By Floryie *I received a free copy from the author for an honest review*I was literally screaming at the protagonist, Winter while I was reading the book. Oh it's not what you are thinking. It was in a good way and my screaming was because I was easily carried away by the situations arising in the tale.Let me start at the beginning.When I started the book, I didn't have any expectation since this is a first time author for me. The only thought I had was that the blurb sounded interesting and different. I haven't seen any about Secret Keepers and their ilk. So I was suitably intrigued and the book cover too adds a sense of mystery to the story.The start was the usual stuff, introducing us to Winter and her life and all the important people and events are easily identified in the first few pages. A seemingly innocent teenage mistake is taken and twisted into a new type of paranormal read by the author and I have to say "Kudos" to that. If it wasn't for Winter's mistake the whole book wouldn't have been. It's the base for Winter meeting the Secret Keeper and the incidents which take place thereafter.The story starts to get intense after Winter meets the Secret Keeper and it kept me on my toes till the end, making me wonder what would happen next during each scene. I went through the whole gamut of human emotions from guilt to happiness to horror to sorrow through the heroine. Not even Liam with his mature understanding and support at the end garnered that much liking from me as much as Winter did. She is a finely crafted character who easily had me grasped in her feelings and thoughts. No one else stood out much among the side characters except for Mr. Shoop with his devious mind and genial veneer.The story was steady paced at the start and slowly ramped up to a pitch with the devastating murders and stayed that way till the end. The story was told in Winter's and Liam's POV. I generally love reading both POVs since that helps in knowing what everyone is upto. But it was a bit confusing for me in this book since it wasn't alternating. I had to look at the name every time a chapter started to know whose turn it was. The premise of the book is unique and kept me turning the pages. The book hasn't even started on the character of the Secret Keeper and I am sure there's so much more to know about her and her powers and all the questions associated with it.The ending was a kind of a cliffhanger and I am sure the next book would make up for it easily. I felt kind of sad for Winter at the end. But then that's the way the book is shaped. So overall, the ending was okay.If I had a chance to grab the sequel's copy right now, I would. Winter makes a terrible mistake and is pressured to admit it and hurt those she loves. She desperately seeks out the Secret Keeper for help. But there are rules, caveats. Winter walks away knowing her next secret she will never be able to tell.Little did she know the next secret would be so life altering that it would destroy her world. And she can’t even say one word. Winter spirals and then is confronted over and over again with the magnitude of the secret she’s incapable of telling…a secret that could cost her her own life, and the lives of everyone she loves.Herber is a small town where not much happens. That also means it can be a hotbed for the rumor mill, no matter how much or little truth there is to the gossip.And that is exactly what Winter is trying to avoid after realizing the ramifications of her great big giant mistake. In honesty, I think if she had actually fessed up to those she needed to, as she was being pressured to do by someone else, it wouldn’t have been as bad as what she thought it would be…because, well, it wasn’t that bad.Winter is convinced she only has two options: be forced to reveal her secret, or have the Secret Keeper erase it like it never happened. She thinks she can handle the terms of the agreement with the Secret Keeper, who lives in a dilapidated house on the worst street in town. The Secret Keeper has distinguishable qualities that are definitely hair-raising.During Winter’s dealings with the Secret Keeper, I kept thinking about Ariel’s dealings with Ursula in The Little Mermaid. We all know you don’t make a deal with the devil, but when you think you have no other choice…The plot moves on from there, and spirals out of control. If Winter thought her first secret was bad, her second one – the one she can’t tell anyone – is earth-shattering. Something that could definitely drive a person to insanity, especially not being able to tell anyone. Winter does her best to give all the signs she can to help others figure out her secret.I was impressed with Winter’s attempts to point everyone she can in the direction of the one person central to her secret, given all the things happening. I don’t think I could have done as well if I were in her position. The entire premise of the book is based on secrets, and unfortunately Winter learns someone else’s secrets. Terrible secrets that can cost lives.The ending is a slight cliffhanger, leaving readers open to ask many questions about what will come next as Winter moves forward in life. It was not quite what I was expecting, and definitely a turn upside down for Winter. Overall, this was a quick very quick read that’s a nice change. It opens the door for readers to question their own secrets.

We read about Winter, a small town girl with an old soul, who takes a painful, prom night mistake and turn it into something larger than she could have ever imagined. This is done through the "help" of the Secret Keeper, a mystical woman who can undo mistakes, at a price. Once Winter strikes the deal with the Secret Keeper, her life literally changes. And it doesn't stop there. A novel riddled with completely relateable human emotions and reactions and not so everyday magical attributes, you find yourself sucked into Winter's life, and know you could have taken her place easily. Lovable characters and heart- wrenching split second decisions, you will be on the edge of your seat for this book!

6 of 7 people found the following review helpful. One of the best! By a reader If you want to know how and why Calvinism conflicts with scripture, this book is for you. Much detail is found in its 738 pages, but it is like water in the desert for the searching soul. This was the best book that my husband and I found on this subject! Because Gracely was a former Calvinist, he understands their bias and exposes the double-mindedness of Calvinism. I also highly recommend this book for the scripture index in the back of the book to correctly understand difficult passages like Romans chapters 9-11, or the hardness of Pharaoh's heart. Gracely also helps you understand the correct Greek interpretation of many difficult passages. He exposes faulty thinking of Calvinists and their cleverly-said words that deceive many: how their bold statements actually contradict Scripture, how they get Christians to doublethink, and how they take Bible verses out of their context.If you care to rightly divide the Scriptures and not just follow someone's digested doctrine and biases, Gracely helps you see what scripture really intended to say, instead of looking through the colored glasses of Calvinism. A quote from page 43: "As long as people embrace contradictory premises that abandon logic it is impossible for them to arrive at the truth. Consequently, in theology it can be exasperating to show a person the contradiction of their Calvinism, since they embrace the contradiction. You are only pointing out what they already admit to. In fact, they do not even believe their contradiction is a real contradiction, but only a 'seeming' one. This is why a great division in Christian theology has continued to exist for centuries despite proponents from both sides appealing to the Bible. For centuries certain words in the Bible have been reinterpreted by some to fit the template of Calvinistic doctrine and these followers of Calvin (in regard to all of their chief doctrinal distinctives) have read their Bibles through the lens of contradiction. Of course, the Calvinist would reply that it is the other side that is reinterpreting Scripture to fit their own template. This charge/counter charge leveled by Calvinists and non-Calvinists against each other is why all Christians themselves need to study the Scriptures. This way they will know which is the correct view and thus be 'approved unto God, rightly dividing the Word of Truth.' "With Calvinism strongly encroaching into many churches unchallenged, this book is desperately needed and a must read! It is not out to 'wage war on Calvinism' but strives to correctly interpret scripture. If you are ready to go beyond the basics of what Calvinism is, to wanting to understand the logical problems of its beliefs, then this book is for you.

So far - new insights that I didn't see before By dw God wills that all men be saved, but not in such a way that God wills that all men be saved.If that sentence makes perfects sense, you may be reading scripture through the lens of Universal Divine Causal Determinism.The author looks at the perennial philosophical arguments that are used to support the belief in "hard determinism" which is the core concept of Calvinism (as Calvin learned it from Augustine).The author examines arguments and shows how they are worded in such a way as to trick the listener by masking logical contradictions with strategically ambiguous language.When the listener takes the time to examine these arguments in the light of formal logic, they fall apart.For example:For most hard-core Reformed thinkers, "Sovereignty" is defined as (the belief that God is the author and first cause of every event).Quotes by Calvin:Everything is controlled by God’s secret purpose, and nothing can happen except by his knowledge and will.” (The Institutes of Christian Religion, Bk. 1, Ch. 16, Sect. 3)What we must prove is that single events are ordered by God and that every event comes from his intended will. Nothing happens by chance.” (The Institutes of Christian Religion, Book I, Ch. 16, Sect. 4)Language that is distinctive of the "hard determinist" are the words such as "Decree" , "Sovereign", "Control". etc.Arminianism rejects the doctrine of "hard determinism" resolving instead that God "indirectly" controls many things.For example, God does not have to directly control every molecule in the solar system. He sets the Sun and planets in space and uses laws of physics to keep them in their places. Neither does God directly control every thought, every action, every decision throughout the life-span of every human being.Therefore, language that is distinctive to the Arminianism are words such as "Allow", "Permit", "Endure".The author shows how Calvinist promoters will firstly claim that the Arminian distinctive is a false doctrine.But at the same time, the Calvinist will flip back and forth between the language of "Control" and "Permit" in order to mask his logical contradicitons.In this way, the Calvinist functions like a double-agent who decries the Arminian as the enemy, but then uses Arminian language in order to cover up Calvinist distinctions that are problematic to their audience.If we take for granted (as the Calvinist argues) that God is the author and first cause of every human decision and action, then intellectual honesty requires we follow that concept to its logical conclusion.Premise A: God is the author and first cause of every human decision and actionPremise B: The vast majority of human decisions and actions are sinful and evil.Conclusion: God is the author and first cause of all sin and evil.The Calvinist has no problem with this conclusion until it starts to effect proselytization.( i.e. people reject Calvinism because they reject God being seen as the author of sin.)When this rejection occurs, then the Calvinist has a problem.So what he does ( as a double agent ) is flip to the Arminian language of "Permit", "Allow", "Endure".But he uses these words knowing he is deceiving his listener, because he has strategically crafted new "secret" definitions for these words.The listener thinks he is saying that God "Allows" sin, and find this acceptable.But the Calvinist is only giving the appearance of saying this in order to draw in the listener.This then is one of many deceptive ploys to promote indoctrination.The word "Love" is another word strategically used in a deceptive manner by the Calvinist.When asked, "Do you believe God *loves* the lost soul".In order for the Calvinist to answer this, without being rejected, he has to craft is own secret definition of the word love.In order to draw people in, Calvinism has been forced to spin a massive spider-web of deceptive and ambiguous arguments.The sacred object is not God the father, nor is it Jesus.The sacred object is the concept of hard determinism.And as it is will all man-made sacred objects, it must be dusted, polished and defended.

We are both learning so much and are digging deeper into Hebrews than we ever have before. The questions at the end of each chapter really make you think! We both highly recommended this book to individuals, couples and groups.

I get nervous that somehow it will change my perception of the series, the characters and worse, the author. However, with Kirsty Dallas and the "Mercy's Angels" series, each addition has added depth and served as an integral part in the continuation of each one of these amazing stories.Each installment in the "Mercy's Angels" series can be read as standalones but I wouldn't recommend it. With the premise behind the entire series being people directly affected by the love and support shown at the Mercy House, each story builds on the next. Characters are revisited, their stories continuing through the lives of others."Mother's Love" is the fourth book in Dallas' incredible series and I love it just as much! The incredible strength shown by the main characters, the sense of family and love within each page is touching.Annie, along with her young son Eli, has escaped her abusive husband and settled into somewhat of a life in Claymont. She still lives in fear it appears and denies herself things that would make her happy. Dillon is the strong and support ex-military man who has a thing for Annie but can't seem to get her to break down the walls she has rightfully built.But now Annie's past and her present are colliding at a scary pace and her only choice is to learn to rely on the one man whose mission he makes it to protect her and the son he has come to love. A journey that no mother ever wants to make, "Mother's Love" will have your emotions all over the place but with a hope of happiness in the end.It's safe to say that "Mother's Love" might be my new favorite in the series but I think I say that after each new book comes out.

After escaping the abuse from her mentally unstable ex-husband and with the help from Mercy’s shelter, Annie now has her life back on track, running the café and providing a safe environment for her son Eli.Dillon Montgomery is ex-military and runs his own private security firm with his cousin. He has never seen himself as the settling down type, always busy with work and protecting his friends. All that changes when Dillon sets his eyes on Annie. Annie instills something in him that he has never felt before. Throughout the first three books, we see them both fight this attraction. By Nancy Can be read as a stand alone, but reading all the books in order allows you to know the stories behind all the characters in this series. Annie's husband is mentally ill and when he refuses to take his medication her and her son's lives are put in danger. After a particulary severe beating, she takes her young son and flees his wrath. she lands in Claymont and their Women's Shelter and starts rebuilding her life, running a cafe . Dillion has been drawn toward Annie since he first set eyes on her and loves Eli like he is his own son. Annie is wary of developing an relationship with Dillion , questioning her decisions on marrying her husband who was her first in everything and how it went so wrong. Dillion and Annie's attraction to each other have been shown previously, but now they get their own book and you find out about Annie's past and what's she's been through. Her courage in the face of danger is due to her unconditional love of her son and Dillion wants to protect them both.

About the Author

Kenny Abdulsalam, the founder of Jesus Calls World Outreach Ministries, International, was born into a Muslim home in West Africa. At the age of three, he began attending the Koran school where he was given the name AbdulRasheed. He became an Islamic scholar and an Imam, leading a mosque of two thousand worshippers by the age of thirteen. He attended All Nations for Christ Bible Institute where he obtained a degree in Biblical Studies. He attended Christ Message University where he obtained a BA in Theology. He has given lectures at The International School of Leadership and Ministry in South Africa, and The University of Swaziland. He has been preaching the gospel of Christ for over thirty-five years. He is the author of A Call to Follow.

The author starts the book off by explaining the day to day life according to his culture. Everything seems to be going well, and I got lost in his story. The way he wrote the beginning of the book, made me feel like a part of the family. And then...From the beginning of the book until the middle, the author is writing from his Muslim background. He demonstrates a genuine hostility towards Christianity. He explains his introduction to Christianity and he walk you through his thought process. He then explains Islam. What I truly enjoyed about this book is that it took me somewhere else, and I got to see things from a different prospective than my own. As a Christian, I know what I have heard about Islam. This book took me on the inside and provided references for me to look up the information myself. The author used to be an Imam, and so he is not repeating what he heard, but also what he taught. This book is not talking at the reader, and I didn't feel like the author was talking down to me, but I felt like he was sitting down with me, or like I was taking a walking with him, or at the minimum, watching his movie. I felt like I had been on a long trip, and after it was over, I was a bit sad but happy at the same time.

At first I was just expecting a book that just talks about Islam and Christianity, but it goes way deeper than that. This books talks about a young man's journey from Islam to Christianity and the difficulties he face while in that transition. Now, I don't wanna give any spoilers out, but you won't be disappointed once you read this book. Simply amazing!

Is it possible to massage yourself and feel relaxed?When I went through the book, there were many information and importance of self-massage. The book was able to teach me step by step to massage myself. Well, it was a very good feeling than I had thought but I was still not completely satisfied. May be I needed to learn and practice it some more. There were many benefits of this massage and it takes only few minutes. So I am going to try it until I get perfect on it. It was new experience and I loved it.

To spend self-massage any one area of the body usually takes no more than 5 minutes, while the massage will take about 15-20 minutes.

Many of the songs I've not sung or thought about in years and they innvoke so many nostalgic memories growing up singing with my family in church. Laura has done some creative writing all set to songs of old. It's a different style of worship for me some days. Love it and find myself singing or humming a hymn the rest of my day!

About the Author Domonique Washington, affectionately known as Pastor D, is the daughter of Bishop Rickey and Pastor Lesia Washington. She is a fully dedicated Youth Minister of Higher Ground Outreach Church. She oversees several areas of ministry ranging from infants to youth 18 years of age. These ministries are carefully crafted to strengthen the spirits of youth, to equip them with knowledge to carry their witness to their peers and to foster their intellect and talents. Not only does she diligently involve the youth at Higher Ground, she works earnestly to promote spiritual health of youth in the city of Baton Rouge through innovative and energetic youth rallies, lock-ins and other youth specific programming. Knowing that physical lack contributes to the spiritual battles our youth face, Domonique spearheads several successful community outreach events such as the Annual Easter Block Party and Back to School Rally and the Summer Bible Camp. Since 1999, these events have given approximately 3000 children and youth access to school supplies, uniforms, shoes, haircuts, Christian entertainment, a positive Word from God and a safe place to express themselves. Domonique, an alumnus of Southeastern Louisiana University, is currently preparing to receive her advance degrees in Urban Youth Ministry and Youth Counseling. She has released her first book, YLEAD? Root I do alot of outdoor activities so it's important for me to stay hydrated. Water is fine, but since I discovered fruit infused water it's been a lot more pleasurable for me to drink water, which I know is also filled with healthy vitamins.I really liked the sections in this ebook which describes the health benefits of each of the fruits, vegetables and also the specific benefits of certain herbs. I knew that fruits and veggies are good for me but it was helpful for me to learn specific things such as which are the ones with the most vitamin C, which items are good for detox, etc.So this is an excellent ebook with great info and lots of wonderful recipe ideas.
