1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Very helpful. By Rosemary M. Goddard My father is a recovering alcoholic. He's been sober for 10 years now thank goodness. But now a couple of my siblings are struggling to get things together. I wanted to read this book to see what exactly the author thought the cure for alcoholism was. I was not disappointed in this book. The book is short so the reader will not get bored. I loved that the author, John Richlove, repeated the horrible side effects that alcohol has on the drinker and how it effects the people in the drinkers life before getting to the cure. The author uses words that are helpful and non judgmental without being preachy at all. I recommend this book to anyone that has a loved one who is an alcoholic and that wants to help them.

He's been gone for a while but she is still struggling with moving on. She works at Vintage. Her father is a famous rock star. She has money but still chooses to work. Roxy is a great character. She is witty and a little guarded.She's not looking for a relationship or even a guy but they super sexy Parker walks into Vintage. Parker is an up and coming rock star. There is instant attraction. Parker is very intense and goes after what he wants. There relationship has lots of ups and downs.There is also mystery going on in this book. It seems like everyone is keeping secrets from Roxy. Some of those secrets directly affect Roxy.It's volume one so yes it has a cliffhanger. There are still lot of things that have not been resolved and there is a question asked at the end of the book and we have to wait tot volume two to get the answer. I can't wait to read the next one, I have to know what happens.A copy was received for a review.

My first thoughts are Wow what a ride.Our heroine CC/Jimi/Roxanna is the daughter of a rock star, always watching her back to make sure she is not being used for her connections. She's a very strong woman who has been hurt in the past.Our hero, Parker James is a newbie Rock star who has an electric connection to Jimi. He's a deep dark dreamy rock star.Vintage Volume 1 takes us through a ride with several unexpected twist that add up to a great start to this series. With love, hate, danger, betrayal, and much, much more it's a true page Turner.My only dislike of th we book is the sex scenes did not flow for me. It was more like reading cliff notes then experiencing the passion experienced between Parker and Jimi.I'm very much looking forward to volume 2 and seeing what happens next with this couple

This novel is a mystery, a brain teaser that will leave you in a state of puzzlement. But the worst part... the worst part is you will not care!!! Even when you hit the last page and realize it's over for now. Nothing will matter, because the only thing you will be able to care about is when does Vintage Vol 2 release and when will we get our eyes on that cover!!!Our leading lady has quite a few monikers, but one sticks out to me the most. We used to think that it all comes down to what we use as a shampoo and conditioner, but little do we know, oil can be the missing factor in having a strong and healthy hair. Penrose did a great job in providing detailed importance of essential oils for our hair, including how to mix and match the different oils to suit any type of hair. After reading The Way You Are, I had a feeling he might earn that title, and I couldn't wait to read his story. I loved his dry whit and sense of humor. Most of all I loved the way his blindness was portrayed. His disability did not stop him from being a capable, strong man, and I think it made him even more appealing. As a side note, I enjoyed the scenes from his point of view. I think the author did a great Jon using Zach's other senses to guide the reader through the scenes. As a heroine, Ella was unique. I have read a lot of wounded an to heroes, but rarely see that in a heroine. At first she isn't a very likeable person, but he reasons why and her resulting change turn her into a heroine to root for. The love scenes between them were hot as well ... Probably some of the best in the whole series.The next book should be interesting, and I look forward to learning more about Rueben, the newest renegade to join the team. I really hope to learn more about Joe and Group 9 as well.

I liked finding more about Joe Smith's reason for helping the members of the marine platoon who were involved in the explosion in Guatemala. We briefly met Zach Johnson in the last book. Joe has interviewed Zach and is ready to move forward but due to circumstances he has to leave to take care of other matters so he is forced to leave Zach with Ella Frolic. Both Zach and Ella have some problems they need to deal with. Zach's is his blindness and the strange phenomenon he has been left with after the explosion. Ella's is the past, when she was Joe's lover. I felt for both Zach & Ella for the circumstances they find themselves in. Just maybe as they work to take down Group Nine they can find a way to heal.I received a copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. bad boy, anti-hero By Susan M. Kitchings I enjoyed this book, 'Second Sight', although not quite as much as the first one in the series, 'By Sea'. I liked the female main character, Ella, but I thought the male main, Zachary, was a little aloof and stiff - definitely didn't make me feel warm and fuzzy. The plot and story line were well written and easy to follow. Zachary is not the usual hero, more of a bad boy, anti-hero with many good qualities. The continuing story of the soldiers injured in a dark government experiment/explosion, leaving them each with a different paranormal ability, is a great precept and I was glad to find "Joe" tying this story to the first. Would love to see the characters from 'By Sea' have a connection in this book.

Nicholson It has been my privilege to know Sandra as a friend and fellow worshipper at New Life Community Church, but after reading her book, I now know her heart where Christ sits enthroned. Her transparency, humility, and honesty were refreshing and so very encouraging. I dare say everyone of us in the church have had like tests and trials in our walk of faith, but it takes an anointed yielded vessel of God to pour it out in light of God's word, so that others could gain understanding and hope. I for one am forever changed by your testimony, Sandra! Thank you!

If it wasn't for Kindle Unlimited I would not continue to follow this story. The author should be ashamed of herself for charging 99¢ for 30 pages. I could've bought a paperback from the bookstore for the price of the combined series and it isn't even over.

Only one issue :-) By Amazon Customer My one issue I have and I think lots of people feel the same way is that I understand why she does her books in parts and that doesn't really bother me because it kinda like your favorite tv show there are cliffhangers etc.. But you know when the next episode is coming with these books you don't your left with no clue as to when the next one is coming so that's my only one issue!! The story is great I love the characters! The suspense is awesome because you want so bad to know who is behind this!! Anyways great read :-) Wonderfully written :-) love her books and serious :-)

More than boy meets girl By Molly M Bain What I really enjoyed about this romance novel was the fact that it deviated from the normal romance novel template. It had a back-story and plot development, and it engaged my interest beyond "when will they get together?"I also enjoyed that there was no real clear cut bad guy per se. Everyone has a story for the reason they are the way they are, and I think that is really relatable.

His compatriots were killed and he was thrown into a dungeon, with little food and water. He would have died but for a MacNicol clansman who gave him food, and water, and helped him escape. Years later Eoin and his family capture Fiona MacNicol and Eoin will exact his revenge.Fiona holds a secret that can change her destiny and Eoin’s but he will not listen to her and she finds herself thrust into a dungeon just as Eoin was in her castle years earlier. Unlike Eoin though, Fiona does not need to worry about dying in a cell of the keep.Fiona longs for there to be peace between the clans and she feels she might be able to melt through Eion’s icy heart but there are certainly forces working against her. Eoin’s clan is not keen on keeping a MacNicol in the castle and Fiona’s family cannot forget the anger they feel toward the MacKays. This is a marvelous book showing how brave acts of kindness have long lasting impacts and how the wonderful power of forgiveness allows people to move past their wounded hearts.

From the Author Author QuestionnaireMary Ann BrantleyAuthor-Acorns from IvyQ. What purpose or inspiration led to the writing of your first book?A. Acorns from Ivy is the story of my mother's life of hardship, and my own spiritual journey through life as the daughter of a strong Christian woman and a wandering earthly father. God imparted in me a need to pass along our stories to my children and grandchildren, which gave me the inspiration to begin writing. The Holy Spirit compelled me to complete it and urged me on.Q. What did you learn from writing your first book?A. I learned that writing is both a lot of joy and a lot of hard work. Until I read what I had written I never realized how much of a hillbilly-at-heart I really am. Writing Acorns from Ivy has reminded me of many forgotten memories and given me a renewed appreciation of who I am as a human being, and who I am in Christ.Q. What doors have opened to you that would not have opened had you not written your book?A. I have found ample opportunity to share my faith with people whom otherwise I may never have met. Becoming a member of the Authors Guild of Tennessee is a good example of a new door for me. I'm eager to see what God has in store for the book He inspired me to write.Q. Did you use an outline in the planning stages of your first book?A. I didn't use a written outline but I did make notes of some of the things I wanted to include in my story. I found as I wrote that many things ended up in my book that I never thought of during planning and many things I planned to add, I removed before publishing.Q. If you could write your first book all over again what would you do differently?A. I would do more research on the guidelines for writing and publishing before I began. I'm pleased with what I learned, but I'm sure the project could have been made easier if I had spent some time in the Chicago Manual of Style before beginning.Q. How did you choose your publisher and why?A. Choosing a publisher was something I did before I started to write. An ad on a Christian web-site caught my attention with the question, "Have you ever thought of writing a book?" I searched the web for information on various publishing companies and the packages they offered but ultimately chose the first one I found in the ad. Westbow Press is a division of Thomas Nelson and Zondervan who publishes Christian literature. I wanted my book to be good, wholesome reading and their guidelines met my standards. Price was important and their prices are fair, but quality service is most important and they have very high ratings.Q. What are your goals for future writing projects?A. Writing is a privilege God has given me and my future projects will be for the purpose of sharing His love. I have finished a first draft of my second book which is a branch-off from Acorns from Ivy and I also have several ideas for articles or mini-books on enjoying the fullness of the gift of Christ. If I have a goal it is to spend the remainder of my days sharing the Love of God with others.

About the Author

Writing a book from the heart is a rewarding experience. It is both painful and healing. A life lived is a story each of us has inside, especially when the seasons of our life are mostly behind us.

Over the years, I’ve written a few poems, prepared many Sunday school lessons, and shared my personal spiritual journey with anyone interested in hearing it. I earn my living as an income tax professional.

I am a native of Tennessee and a hillbilly at heart. Most importantly, I am a born-again child of God.

A Daughter's Struggle to Overcome Hating her Father By Cheryl Peyton This is the beautifully-written account of the author's internal struggle of growing up as a devout Christian while harboring intense feelings of resentment and hatred for her father who deserted the family when she was very young. Although he later returned, he remained a distant, self-absorbed parent and husband, never making amends for his betrayal. Reaching adulthood, the author eventually was compelled by her faith to ask him to forgive her for her feelings that were incompatible with her beliefs. The author's narrative includes so much detail and local color of life in rural Tennessee, the reader is put in time and place.

The author writes beautifully about the hardships of her childhood as well as the grace and forgiveness she was able to find in later years. I was very impressed with how open the author is with her readers. She shows you her heart. I highly recommend this book.
