Most times the stories have holes the size of Texas and the authors expect the reader to take giant leaps of the imagination as if we were privy to the inside workings and motivations of the author's mind. Except for Mina Carter. Her stories may be short, but they are addictive and tell a story you can't and don't want to put down. It is refreshing to read of a bbw heroine who is not afraid or self conscious of the fact that she's got curves. As a formerly obese woman who is proudly curvy, I say "You go girl!" Not every curvy woman has image problems. Some of us happen to enjoy the curves what God gave us even if we're not a size 2.Alex is a drool-worthy Alpha, strong and in charge, he knows what he wants but unlike most alphas we read about he actually considers sending her away instead of asserting his authority. The whole I'm the Alpha what I say goes gets so tiresome sometimes. Knowing Eva is his and they have a deal she has too much honor to back down from, he still considers not forcing her to follow through on her end. Can we say keeper?I absolutely loved this short. Eva is confident and caring, Alex is hot and brooding. The only surprising turn in this short is that an Alpha such as Alex managed to stay away from Eva for so many years knowing how badly he wanted her. I can't wait for the next installment!

However when a sexy alpha is involved maybe self discovery and the promise of what could be is worth all the risks. She is by no means a model type and this may just blows up in her face. No risk no rewards. Alex Kingswood has lust over and pined for one woman and that woman is Eva. Finally she is within his grasp, the fact that her brother is in over his head is besides the point, she is here and in need. When he makes her an indecent proposal will she bite?They both find that one night isn't enough, but her insecurities and doubts rear their ugly heads. Can they make something lasting or is this just going to be an episode of As the lust is satiated? Mina Carter and her series of shorts are nothing short of addicting...maybe it's laced with pixie dust..lol, can't wait for more!

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Good story, very sexy By DR A hot, sexy werewolf short story. The heroine's mother used to be married to the hero's uncle. He was a bit older, but he was her crush as a teenager. He's a werewolf and she's human. He's a billionaire, she owns a successful business. Her brother has gotten into dangerous trouble with some vampires, and maybe he can help pay them off, so she asks for help. She thinks she'll get a large loan, enough to pay off her brother's debt to the vampires, but he has other ideas. What our heroine doesn't know is that the werewolf is interested in her.It was a good story, and I especially liked seeing the Master of the City for a few moments, but I wish that we got to the point where they tell each other their true feelings for each other before we hit the cliffhanger. Now I have to bite my fingernails until a continuation is released.

She is busy trying to calm some spirits in a northern Scottish village and trying hard to keep that fact from Graeme while he has some secrets of his own that he's trying to hide from her. They find themselves falling in love while shuffling their own secrets.Allie MacKay takes you on a wonderful journey to a Scottish village named Pennard where you can smell the sea and feel as if you could reach out and touch your surroundings. Secondary characters who will make you smile and one Viking spirit who touched me so much I'll always carry him with me.She always has a dog in her stories and Jock is a true soul. You can't lose when you pick up a Mackay book.

The electricity crackled between them and he made her feel as if she had stepped into a dream, and so she did. An incredible one! It was filled with adventure, love, Highland magic and Celtic legend and lore. I loved it!

By Barb Massabrook American Ghost Whisperer Kendra Chase is fed up with some angry spirits not easy persuading angry spirits to her way of thinking isn't easy , but she knows she will be free at last and have a long deserved and over due holiday in lovely Edinburgh. Well that is until she get an unanticipated job that takes her to Scotland's north coast to a small fishing village called Pennard, which is getting ready dug up for a historical restoration many of the locals are are not thrilled by this new development especially some with a body or living heart of the supernatural variety. Plus protesting paranormal activity has been reported!Graeme MacGrath the hero of this amazing story is promised to le tris to keeps the peace well that is until these humans start making a racket and throw everything in disarray cause a disturbance that breaks the shield between this world and the old paranormal world. Of course the attraction is immediate when he sees the beautiful Kendra which Graeme seems to resent even more as he just doesn't have the time for it!The chemistry and attraction and it is obvious the solution join the same teams then be opposite sides. Of course this brings them even closer and things begin to heat up but can they keep away from the one thing that is not allowed by opening up their hearts! You will have to read this marvelous book to find out.For me a enormous fan on four four legged friend Jack was one of my favorite character in this read as Ms, Welfonder also puts an adorable little beastie in her books which I love. Of course I loved watching how Kemdra and Graeme come together for thier well deserved happily ever after!I am a major fan of Sue-Ellen Welfonder as I have been reading her books for close to 25 years! Believe me when I say her books are rock solid in story and flow, with her brilliant mind and imagination. Haunted Warrior the first in her Highland Ghostbuster series and is definitely one for my keeper shelve, as all of her books always are whether paranormal under pen name Allie MacKay or historical under Sue-Ellen Welfonder. Anyone can feel her love of the people, animals and land through her written word whether describing a love scene or a piece of haggis she definitely has a way about her that sounds so inviting you feel as you are there with her book characters. Yes she is that talented and I always so look forward to her exceptional books that always leave me feeling satisfied though sometime I wish they don't have to end!I highly recommend Haunted Warrior by is absolutely brilliant and a joy to read!Sue-Ellen Welfonder has new release coming out August 25, 2015 called to Desire a Highlander by Sue-Ellen Welfonder which is book 2 in her wonderful Scandalous Series. Bear My Soul is the first release in the brand spanking new Fire Bears series by T. S. Joyce and it totally captured my heart. Joyce has quickly become one of my favorite authors so when she announces a new release, I can't get to my computer quickly enough to order it. And she never disappoints! The story is exciting, enchanting, thrilling, heartbreaking, heartwarming, sweet, humorous, romantic, sensual and oh so dreamy. The dialog is smart, exceptionally well written and at times, laugh out loud funny. The characters are the heart and the soul of thus story. They are captivating, engaging and endearing. They grab your attention, capture your heart and hold you prisoner from beginning to end. I laughed, I cried and then I finished the book with a big smile on my face. Joyce expertly combines these elements into a deliciously sweet and delightfully entertaining paranormal story filled to the brim with love and adventure. Twenty five year old Rory Dodson has finally had enough of her sexist-pig boss. So, without further adieu, she quit and gave him a few heated choice words. But Rory had much more to worry about than finding another job, she had her five year old son, Aaron. Rory's father died when she was a child and her mother turned her back on her when she became pregnant and had no husband. Yes, she was sad and yes she was lonely but she would do whatever it took to raise her precious boy and protect his secret. Her little boy has a bear inside him and Rory had no idea how it came to be. Sure, she knew the father was Cody Keller but he had said nothing about being supernatural or paranormal. This is a stand alone story with NO cliffhanger, so enjoy. I can hardly wait to read Book Two in the Fire Bears Series. I will give away one little spoiler that Joyce announces at the end of this book. There will be a Book Five in her amazing Saw Bears Series! Yay! Just for us Saw Bears fans, she is giving us Bruiser's story! I can hardly wait! I highly recommend the Saw Bears and Fire Bear Series. Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read!

And I was really into this book until theevil government agency director reared his ugly head. That is one of my personal biases, though. I don't continue with series that incorporate government or pseudo government agencies that hunt, experiment on or otherwise victimize shifters. The stories tend to take on a cruelty and darkness I choose not to experience, even in fiction. And while the Keller Crew was victorious in this book, there are hints of repercussions to come. That makes me sad for the future of the series and for losing the automatic read status of one of my favorite authors. I know there are those who feel differently and that the positives of this book (and there are many) more than balance out the negatives. It is because of the those positives, the dynamics between the H/h and the strength of character of each, that the book still gets 4 stars.Cody and Rory got together at a Breckenridge bar six years earlier and instead of "mine" it was wham, bam, where'd she go? Now Rory, a human, is the single mother of a five year old, out of control, bear shifter cub living on their own in OKC. Not knowing any shifters or where else to turn, she returns to Breckenridge, CO and her son's father, hoping to find answers.Cody, an alpha bear shifter and fireman, looked for Rory after their single night together, a night that changed his life forever. Unable to find her, he is shocked when she reappears five years later and even more shocked when he learns he has a son. But Cody has a dark secret, too. One that threatens to destroy the lives of everyone he loves and the family he never believed he could have.

Although this book had darker undertones, there was also light-hearted comedy. This is Cody and Rory's journey to finding their HEA in this action-packed romance.Cody has served his country as a solider in the military and is now home, continuing to serve his community. He's a firefighter in his home town and also the alpha of the local bear clan. Five years ago, he met Rory and one thing led to another but after one night of passion, she disappeared and he hadn't heard from her since. He owes her a debt, because she had helped release him from his bond with Sarah. It was a very rare thing to happen under any circumstance. The next time he sees Rory, she has a big surprise for him and she needs his help, desperately.Rory has been struggling to provide for her son, Aaron. He's a bear shifter. The one night with Cody had produced their beautiful son, but she knows nothing about raising a bear cub. The secondary characters that are introduced created the close family crew and someone from the Ash Crew shows up too! This book continues at a steady pace. The drama unfolds with the lies and deceit from the villain, who is holding all the cards. You are held in suspense hoping for the couples happily ever "bear" after. This is another great paranormal romance I have added to my library and I truly hope you will take the time to read this amazing book!

Miller For anyone who desires to know more about prophecy - both giving and receiving words - I highly recommend this guidebook.Teaching from Scripture, Rubsam explains how prophecy is meant to be used and what its purposes are, and offers helpful criteria in discerning words received from others as well as administering prophecy in church and in the marketplace. I especially appreciated the warning flags given that appeal to ego or that come from personal observation, as I believe "soulish prophecy" is an easy trap for many of us. The contrast of more "humble prophecies" that are seldom given particularly struck me.From my personal experience, many of us are exposed to the gifts of the Spirit without foundational Biblical teaching on them, and this usually produces two reactions: we either flee in fear, or we embrace everything that's served up as prophetic without testing it, and thereby open ourselves up to that which might not be the Holy Spirit. This book is a powerful and constructive tool to instruct and build up the church in prophecy in a way that is healthy and wise.

This is an easy read and very insightful. Greene picks apart reason for depression s with solutions that are realistic achievable to get one's self free of these downer feelings. Since the author has herself been through this it is easier for the reader to take her advice to heart. The getting up and showering to begin one's day is the best thing a person can do to start the3 process. Getting out into the community and finding a purpose outside one's self is also a major helper to elevate depression. I myself am dealing with major health issues as well as empty nest syndrome and found this to be a fabulous refresher for me. Breathing is a great way to meditate and release negative feeling and it was a great reminder. Thanks Angel Greene for your easy read that actually says a lot and helps with simple no BS advice.

The basic premise of the book is that depression is caused by events in our life (mainly in our childhood) that have developed the 'mental idea' that we are somehow bad. This feeling of badness was constructed by blaming oneself for the past mistakes of others (mainly our parents) and oneself instead of being easy-going about mistakes and forgiving about oneself and others. This book helped to completely change my understanding of depression and psychology in general. The biological/evolutionary and social explanation Ms. Angel Greene offers for depression is something I have encountered nowhere else, yet is so basic and elemental and makes complete sense. This book clarified and simplified what was for me a dark, scary, overwhelming mystery, and helped me to finally see depression for what it is. I understand now that I'm not randomly and unfortunately afflicted with a strange disease that I'm powerless to affect, but rather all people have the potential to enter a depressed state, and similarly all people, including me, have the potential to live in a state of vitality/normality (whatever the opposite of depression is). It's helped me to see what conditions provoke depression's onset and importantly, why and which help heal and restore oneself. What a stroke of luck to have come across this helpful book and this wonderful author.

But I am in awe of her ability to portray not only the depth of love of our family and the love we were taught of God, but also the humor that abounded throughout our lives. It's funny to see things from an entirely different perspective of shared experiences, and to discover we shared such different points of view. She reminded me of things I had forgotten, made me cry over others as I remembered, and showed me things I never knew about. I believe anyone would find these stories of faith and love an inspiration in their daily Christian walk. Congratulations, Sis!

By sarah the kindle romance fanatic i find it hard to read books where the guy, a former player, just falls in love with the girl immediately after 2 dates "because there is something special about her" and the girl resists because she wants to succeed in life on her own. there needs to be more to their relationship than her reluctance, his immediate love and then dealing with her problems. the books is not as much about their relationship, which i summed up, but her problems in life, which of course work out a little to easily for how serious they are/

I'm glad that she was portrayed as a strong woman but I felt like he should've pushed more because it was like he just caved to her all of the time. I just didn't really feel this story as much. It's an okay read but could've been better.

Great anthology concept By Michelle Great idea to have an anthology of teasers to try out potential books and authors before deciding if you want to continue with the story. There's enough of each story to get involved and to make a decision if you want to keep reading or not. Plus, you get introduced to other writer's works as well to open up more book options. Everyone needs more book options, right?

I knew I wanted to read this as I loved Danielle's Savannah series and I couldn't resist Storm Bailey on the cover - he has the most beautiful blue eyes, just like our Rock Star, Jordan Valentine! This is a stand alone new book just released! It will have you bawling your eyes out, falling for the cocky rock star, and cheering our heroine, Brittan, onto victory and happiness. And now a bit about the story...The prologue starts off a little in the past and tells us Brittan has lost the love of her life, Cane. Then as part of her therapy she goes back and remembers all their good times and bad from the time they meet until he dies. Now remember back on page one, Danielle tells us Cane is going to die. Still, I cried myself to sleep ~ I was so hooked on Cane even though I knew what was coming it still ripped my heart out. But don't despair, it isn't all sad ... as we come back to present day we meet the cocky guitar playing Jordan who will be touring with Brittan and her bandmates. The attraction is instant, though they fight it ... watch them battle their wills and see if temptation can bring Brittan the happiness she deserves and that Cane wants her to have.Favorite passages:- He took my breath away with just one look and stole my heart all at the same time.- "I love you too. I want nothing more than to take your hand and walk you to the other side, but baby, it’s not your time. RiversLeave the mask, the boots and gloves too!I loved this story. There were so many twists and turns possible, but never the ones I thought would happen did -- Brandy sent us down other paths. I loved that it wasn't predictable. Sometimes people have trouble changing things up, but Brandy wrote this contemporary romance wonderfully. There was intrigue, romance (of course), comedy, tragedy, and even a couple slimy evil villains. In a few short pages she had us hot for the phantom and later we were in love after a chapter. And now a bit about the story...A few months after dumping her college boyfriend when she wouldn't bend to his will and become his trophy wife, Mila decides to do something wild! She goes to a frat costume party and goes home with the first man she meets, the Phantom of the Opera. She is dressed as the devil, complete with feathered mask to give her the courage to be bold. The devil and phantom keeps their masks on all night and never exchange names. Then Mila wakes early in the morning and sneaks out - not regretting her actions, but only wanting that one night of wild abandon. The story picks back up 6 years later, Mila and Cherish, her 5 year old daughter, have moved to a new town where she will be the high school science teacher. She never gave up on her dreams like her scumbag boyfriend wanted and now she is living them! Her students love her and she loves Cherish, if only she had learned the name of the phantom....Favorite passages:- If you have a sweet tooth, you can come over and get a bite."I'm only asking for a chance. Besides reading the back cover, I like to read the first couple of pages of any book I am interested in to see if I like the authors writing style or if the story grabs me. Foreplay: A Teaser Anthology of First Chapter has taken 22 stories from different authors and packed them into one book giving you the first chapter of their books. Is it a tease? Absolutely! I loved reading this book and going back and downloading all the books I want to read. This book is a great way to get familiar with 22 different authors and their brilliant stories.

A good start to a new series By redmoran1 ***This ebook was provided by Tule Publishing via NetGalley inexchange for an honest review***Where There's a Will is the first book in the Whiskey River series and it's a short novella that is a prequel to the series.Attorney Ryder Ford kissed his secretary Addison Wells under the mistletoe and they both are trying to forget the kiss and move on- Addison is focused on her studies and becoming a lawyer herself and she plans to leave Whiskey River behind in order to find a job as a lawyer.A tornado traps Ryder and Addison together in the storm shelter and being together in such close proximity makes it harder for them to fight the string attraction and chemistry between them and they end up having sex and now Ryder is willing to do anything in his power to make Addison stay in Whiskey River but it's not going to be easy since Addison isn't looking for love and her career is a first priority.Where There's a Will is a fast paced short novella that i enjoyed reading- it was sexy, emotional and fun to read.I'm looking forward to reading more books in the series.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Great fun read By PSusan Where There's a Will (Whiskey River Series Book 1) by Katherine Garbera and Eve Gaddy is a just plain old fun. I will be the first to admit that Katherine Garbera‘s writing is sometimes a miss for me but this story of Ryder and Addison is a hit. I haven’t read much by Eve Gaddy, I want to read more by her based on this lead-in to the Whiskey River Series. Since it seems to be setting up the storyline for the series to come on the Kelly brothers, I was pleased that it is an engaging novella on its own. Yes, it makes you want to read what happens when those four brothers get together.Like most stories of this length the characters are not as developed as they would be in a longer work. However, Ryder and Addison have a working relationship before the story starts so that helped to make their HEA believable. The story moves as a quick pace but still the author gives us quite a bit of Addison’s background. Ryder is still a mystery except for being a cousin to the Kelly. Still a great introduction to the series.Net Galley provided a copy.

I normally enjoy the work of both Eve Gaddy and Katherine Garbera, but this one just didn't quite do it for me. It started off to be promising - I liked the concept of being caught in a closet to shelter from a storm, and giving in to their feelings, but I found it rushed to an ending, without much buildup of plot. There also wasn't much character development on Ryder. I also felt that the inclusion of the reading of the will and the 4 brothers was not really part of the story other than that it was Ryder who was the lawyer reading the will. I get that this is a first book in a series, and a bit of an introduction to future characters, but I feel that they should have been integrated into the story better. This book is only 57 pages - almost more of a short story - I think it definitely could have been better if it were full novella length.

When she was at her sister Kristine and Robert's ranch. She and her sister Patricia were at school and now on school break. She was seventeen and found love and the letters Curly wrote were full of love with poetry. She hated school and was treated very harshly when she did not do as told. Read what she did to take charge of her own life.

About the Author Jason Byassee is pastor of Boone United Methodist Church in Boone, North Carolina. He is an ordained elder in The United Methodist Church and holds a Ph.D. in Theology from Duke, where he is a Fellow in Theology and Leadership. Dr. Byassee is also a Contributing Editor at The Christian Century.

Feeling most at home behind a pulpit, Will Willimon’s deepest calling is to be a preacher and truth-teller of Jesus Christ. He is Professor of the Practice of Christian Ministry at Duke University Divinity School and retired Bishop of the North Alabama Conference of The United Methodist Church, after serving for 20 years as faculty member and Dean of the Chapel at Duke University. He lives in Durham, North Carolina.

Will Willimon has published many books, including his preaching subscription service on MinistryMatters.com, Pulpit Resource, and Fear of the Other: No Fear in Love, both published by Abingdon Press.

The Tinity is a topic many Christians seek to better understand and this is a great resource for clergy and lay people alike. It is actually written for lay people and includes a discussion guide after every chapter. As the author is a pastor, the text is very engaging and approachable. It is still very intellectual, but again, accessible for all who desire to go deeper in understanding the Trinity. I am looking forward to continuing the book and most likely will offer it as a book study in my own congregation. It is a well-written, entertaining and informative book that I most definitely recommend!

Phillips Jason is the embodiment of the scholar pastor, and for a very specific reason: he deeply loves the People Called Methodists and believes they deserve the very best work he can possibly do.
