3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Rushed and weirdly bloodthirsty and ridiculous By Gunderman This started out okay. It was a little rushed (the H and h are in love and committed within a few minutes of meeting each other) and there wasn't a whole lot of character development. It's a short story, so some of that is to be expected. What I don't get and didn't appreciate was the uncharacteristic bloodthirstyness at the culmination of the book. *Spoiler Alert* Yes, she has her first shift as a tiger and pulling off the arm that is sticking out of the moving car shooting at you is understandable. What I don't get is why she had to then pull off the other arm (while she had him pinned to the ground) and the bears had to pull off each leg. AND HE SURVIVED! They even talk about him being armless and legless in prison and whether the guards will intervene in the abuse he'll suffer by the other inmates. REALLY?!? I'm not sure why the author thought this weirdly brutal ending went with the rest of the book in which the characters were all loving and sweet. Glad I didn't pay for it.

He decides on a dating website, and he fills out his profile first. He gets his true mate Abby, and they marry, with her best friend Terri there, too. In the next book, Terri and Tony find happiness. Wonderful characters that we love right away, and an interesting tale of a different shifter life, super hot sexiness and we have all the elements of a great well written series !! Here in this third story, Lisha is rescued from a mugger by Brad. Lisha has been hiding because she witnessed her father's murder. She's a Tiger shifter, but hasn't shifted. Brad knows she's special, but as they get to know each other, he sees she is perfect for him, and his whole clan is now hers, and they will protect her. Sweet sexy lovin' and interesting stories make these tales fun. Of course there is also suspense and deep characters. You'll like the people, the story, the hot sex, and deep feelings, and I know you'll look forward to more from this group. This can be a stand alone. But you get more dimension knowing the other characters.ENJOY !!!

By Ellena deLeon This author is one of the most unique and imaginative minds of the written word by writing about bear shifters and rare white tiger shifters who come together to create a new and wonderful love that lasts for a lifetime!!! I've got to recommend that you get this particular book and series for your own personal enjoyment and then you will find yourself curled up in your favourite chair reading about these amazing people!!! My concerns about Kode not loving Tria as much as Rain, were unfounded - a few spoilers contained in this review By Justirishgirl A FEW SPOILERS BELOWI really liked Kode, the hero in this book and surprisingly Tria, the heroine, who I did not like in the last book. Tria played a villain of shorts in the prior stories.I was concerned because Kode thought he was in love with Rain Noles during the 3rd book since he was 13 years old. I prefer my heroes think that the heroines are the love of their lives and that no other woman has gotten close to inspiring feels of love and protectiveness. To make things more complicated Rain was Tria's sister. I was glad that was not an issue. I felt like he proved to Tria and anyone else that she was the only woman that he ever loved and Rain was just a crush.It helped in my mind that Kode acted like a jealous, possessive alpha man when other men showed interest in Tria, to an extent he never showed to towards Rain. He totally overacted and I loved it. It lead not only to hot sex scenes but some funny moments. Even while Kode thought that he was in love with Rain during the 3rd book he continued to have sex with other women. Since being with Tria, which happens during the beginning of the book, Kode never slept with anyone else nor wanted to, which to me was telling.Even though Rain was Kode's best friend in the prior books, they did not act that way as much as they did in the last book and I was glad about it. There was not that closeness between them anymore. They did not sleep over at each other's houses anymore, which I thought was the way it should be now that they had each had the person they loved in their life. Tria always felt second fiddle next to Rain, the "good" sister. In her opinion and based on the history we are given I agree with her, Kode and other Sterlings did not even see her when around Rain, who was friends with most of the Sterling men. In fact, growing up they all treated Tria poorly because of the way she sometimes treated Raine. In my opinion it was understandable that Tria felt insecure at first about Kode wanting Rain more, at least in the beginning of their relationship. At the end of the story there was no doubt who Kode loved. I wished for a HEA but new that it would be more of a HFN based on prior books in the series and the fact that there are more books to follow, which I will be reading.

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Kode and Tria are by far my favorite couple from all the Sterling Shore Series By connie I've reread LOVING WAR a few times since I purchased it. Kode and Tria are by far my favorite couple from all the Sterling Shore Series! There is something so sweet and vulnerable about their romance. The combination of discovery of love and the humor that came along with it, makes this book an amazing story. I really loved the POV of both the protagonist and how they seamlessly transition back and forth to give you the most of each scene. I've read a lot of series where the male protagonists and female protagonists all start feeling the same book after book, but Kode and Tria are unique in their inner voices and personalities from all the other Sterling Shores couples. I really loved hearing Kode's constant reference to Tria as "my girl", lol definitely made me swoon ;). Excellent read!

He was my #1 favorite book boyfriend of this series until, I read this story. I really thought Kode was always going to be my least favorite and he just jumped to my #1 spot!!!! I laughed so much through this book. Kode and Tria's relationship is just full of love and lots of letting go and having fun. C.M. Owens has definitely done it again with this one and, I am looking forward to the next book in this series :)

Contrary to so many popular health and nutrition gurus, Ari not only talks the talk but he also walks the walk. While many self proclaimed diet experts are far from looking healthy and fit, Ari is muscular and ripped, living proof of the validity of his methods.For his new book „The Low-Carb Myth“ Ari has teamed up with an MD, Wade Smith, who as an orthopedic trauma surgeon, helping people to rehabilitate after severe injury and as a competitive athlete himself, has been testing out various diet philosophies over the years in the pursuit of optimal nutrition for recovery and performance.As a result „The Low-Carb Myth“ is somewhat more technical than „Forever Fat Loss“. While the latter was essentially a self-help book on fat loss, „The Low-Carb Myth“ focuses more on the why than on the how, providing an enormous amount of references, links and citations. The purpose of the book as the authors state it, is“to transparently address the scientific facts around carbohydrates and debunk the many myths that have been perpetuated about them.“The authors do an excellent job in completing this purpose by pointing out how many of the current assumptions about carbohydrates as the cause of the obesity epidemic as well as the health benefits of low carb diets are based on cherry picked or misrepresented data or even on faulty science.They never do this by arrogantly dismissing all other approaches, though, as it is so typical of many other nutrition books today. They also state that their goal is not „to say that low-carb diets are terrible for everyone.“ Consequently there has even been a chapter included in the book called „When Low-Carb Diets May be Appropriate“ in which they summarize a few conditions in which specifically ketogenic diets may indeed have positive effects. For people currently on a low-carb diet there is a three phase program included to slowly transition to a higher carb intake. There is also some very sound advice on how to adjust macronutrient (not just carb intake) to individual requirements and activity.Overall „The Low-Carb Myth“ is an extremely well researched and excellently written book and I heartily recommend it not just to those who are currently on a low carb diet but to anyone with an interest in nutrition, health and fitness.

In the end, I decided on a 4 star review. The information in the book is good and potentially life changing, but I can't say that it was a perfect book. In reality, very few things I review get 5 starts.First, some background:I've been eating low carb for the last 4 years. For the first two, I wasn't eating low carb all the time. I felt better for the most part but not 100%. Then I hit a stride where I was really strict for about 2 years. Overall, I felt much better. I had gone from eating low fat, processed foods to a whole food, high fat low carb diet. But I didn't feel as good as I should have.I came into this book looking for answers, and I feel like I found some.When I started reading the book, I felt like my experiences with low carb were being dismissed. I was told that many of the things I believed about eating a low carb diet were wrong. I felt like my experience with a low carb diet didn't matter.But I kept reading, and what I read really made sense. As a result of reading this book, I have added carbohydrates back into my diet and I feel better than I have in the last 2 years.But what this book really helped me do, is get past the "truths" that I'd been hearing and reading about low carbohydrate diets. It took each all of the low carbohydrate dogmas and addressed it head on.The science is a bit heavy at first. It made for a challenging read. Even though he said to skip sections that didn't interest me, I had a hard time doing that. I've gone back and read it again. I realized that I should have approached the book differently.I should have read it this way:1. Read the introduction. Take a break and let my initial shock sink in.2. Read the summaries at the end of each chapter.3. Read the synopsis chapters at then end. This is what really tied things together for me.4. Go back and read the detail sections of the chapters that I want to know more about.

I love your books By Aleena Klawiter This book was amazing and one thing that I want you to do is keep going with the story as in make the twins older and have Caroline's wedding and have everything happen. Everybody turns happy and that was my second time reading your books the first three I didn't know that you had four books than I found the fourth one. I love the books so much that I will keep reading them I just want to read more about them as in how the twins grow up and what happens. Thank you for reading this.

It was wonderful to take a quick peak back into the lives of the characters we all fell in love with. I love every book she has written and I look forward to all of her future masterpieces. You can definitely see that she does extensive research for all of her books.

Wintermyer One of the great scenes from the film The Mission is when a Portuguese soldier in a period of conversion is climbing up a steep rocky gorge next to a significant waterfall to reach a a Jesuit mission. He carries on his back an extremely heavy amount of military gear on his back, held by a large strap across his shoulders. Suddenly a knife appears as if to stab this intruder. Instead, the knife cuts the strap holding the gear and the whole weighty baggage crashes into the falls. With one stroke, the soldier is freed from his past.The Church plays into this scene in a very similar way with 2000 years of accretions which have added layers and layers of additions which simply burden the institution as well as those people of sincere faith who want to find the true message and meaning of Jesus life.The Gospels themselves begin this process of collection of additives which would make even Jesus feel burdened.Diarmuid O'Murchu, with great insight, helps us to begin the process of removing the excess baggage accrued over centuries. This book, INCLUSIVITY, helps us focus on a basic message of Jesus which is a call to include all people of our world. His interpretations may seem strange amidst the "denominator" divide of Christianity. New historical and cultural evidence only bolsters his case that the gospel and the Kingdom of God is about welcoming the stranger, the outsider, even the outcast without condition of entry. Not the Christianity I know. Wonderful read.

Playing The Player Never Looked So Good By Liz Castillo This a sexy book about a single girl that has been watching her friends meet and marry their soul mates. Always the bridesmaid, never the bride. But with her latest friend/roommate getting married, she is in need of another roommate. So she puts on ad out and prepares to meet the applicants, hopefully one of them will work out and not leave within a year like the others.However, the best person for the room is not whom Keira could possibly live with is the last person she wants to say yes to. Rory is male and not only that, he's stunningly sexy and keeps Keira tongue tied. But she's not thrilled to foot the bills by herself, so she agrees to let him live there with the pact that nothing will ever happen between them.What could go wrong with that?Well, as the two spend more time together, the more she is drawn to Rory. Like seriously can't stop thinking about him and his gorgeous body. What is he hiding under those boxers and can they make her scream like those of her dreams? But if they cross that line, will it be just a one time thing or can this develop into something more?This was a quick and sassy read. I loved Keira's tenacity to achieve what she wants most both personally and professionally. Sometimes her plans don't go as she would like, but she sticks to her guns and that is something I can relate to. Rory, for his part, is equally parts sexy, humorous, talented and friendly. I loved their banter both when they made my laugh, smile, and cry out in frustration.I enjoyed this book with it's quick wit and saucy perspective. Rory's such a stereotypical good-looking guy that I found myself snorting. He plays the game and in order to keep his attention and to make him realize what he feels you have to play him. Kiera's a fun time because she doesn't want to make things awkward but she can't help but be attracted Rory because he's H-O-T!There's a moment where Connor, one of Rory's very close friends, offers to help Kiera get to Rory. He tells her she needs to make him jealous. Connor's such a great supporting character because he's a good man who is attracted to Kiera but realizes her attention is on and for Rory only so he settles himself in the backseat while trying to help her and be her friend. Connor's advice stems into how Keira an Rory end up tumbling into one another.Kiera's fun, spirited, sexy, and pretty genuine. She hates that she has to play a game to get to Rory but she'll do what she has to because she's writing an article and because she wants him. Rory makes her burn like no other and one taste just isn't enough so she plays the game until he's the one reaching for her.What can I say about Rory? He's a good-looking, charismatic, and confident guy. He knows he can have a revolving door of women and never be concerned about his heart until Kiera gets under his skin. He knew he wanted her naked and under him the moment he met her. He knew she was attracted to him, too, but wanted to share an apartment with her so made the bull s**t rule of no sleeping together. He knew he'd break that rule but never thought he'd crave Kiera in a capacity befitting a lovesick man.There's misunderstandings, arguments, sex, and a sweet happy ending. Kiera and Rory are very representative of modern day issues involving relationships between males and females so I liked that the issue was central to the story. In an age where it is even easier to fall into a hookup routine, Kiera and Rory find happiness in a relationship.

This bible has a great modern look.Unfortunately upon receiving and opening and turning the pages -two pages of corinthians just fell away. Okay, I really liked the way it looked so I just try and keep them placed in the book. About 2 years ( this is my back up bible and I dont use it much) I go to find it and pick it up and the fake leather feels sticky and it coming off just from picking the BIBLE up. IT DISINTEGRATED IN MY HAND!!!. No I dont think its a curse or ominous omen for me.ITS JUST A CHEAP MADE BIBLE.BEWARE of vanity. LOOKS GOOD BUT DOESNT DELIVER any where near a eternal shelf life. DONT GET THSI.

Kids don't need things watered down, they need to read The Word of God and let The Holy Spirit teach them. Having heard Father Maldari speak, I find that as I read I can hear his voice and feel his enthusiasm for his subject. He writes in a way that is very readable and engaging, as well as informative. Father Maldari's book has greatly increased my knowledge and faith.He has gleaned an amazing amount of information from the relatively short Nicene Creed. He even offers the opportunity to learnsome Greek, Hebrew, and Latin. I would recommend this book to everyone.

Faith, as in the title of this book, is a word which attempts to express such a search and it need not imply a transcendent reality, a beyond. But most of us are led in our search to just such a beyond in order to make sense of the totality of our lived experiences. Although this book is clearly written for the Christian believer, for those who voyage into the beyond, it does that in a unique way by searching for a deeper understanding of the transcendent in the immanent and, in particular to probe the transcendent by meditating upon our best scientific knowledge of the universe in which we live. The evolutionary character of the universe is a particular ingredient of that probing. For that reason I suggest that this book may serve those searchers who have not yet reached beyond the immanent but are still probing. The author pursues this search by a systematic treatment of the Nicene Creed which has been and remains central to Christian faith since the 5th century. But this is not an analysis of the Creed in the usual sense of the word. It is rather a dynamic and creative rethinking, in light of current knowledge of the universe, of a God who in sharing the love of Father, Son and Spirit in creation calls all of us to love one another in that Triune God. Basically boils down to eating unprocessed foods in limited quantities, having 1-2 cheat meals a week, and walking more. Very simple but effective first steps for someone who is wanting to lose weight but suffering from information overload or confused by BS health claims and systems. Since I'm more in the intermediate stage, lifting weights, getting fat percent below 15%, etc, a lot of this book was stuff I already knew, but the straightforward no non-sense approach would be really useful for me in his next books!Why not 5 stars? I think he could have gotten into more detail on specific exercises, a sample workout plan, etc and also talked about easy ways to trigger your habit, as discussed by James Clear in his blog.

This is a book mainly for those that are just on their start to better health and weight loss. This is definitely not for someone that needs to lose the last 5-10 pounds. However, it is a straight forward, no nonsense and honest about what is really needed to lose weight and maintain it. I would definitely recommend this book to someone that is ready to change their life.

Some good common sense ideas, but the author discourages bread and dairy products. I don't find this sustainable. If you don't mind the continual use of the word "crap", you might like it.
