The Response "There's no magic wand or shortcuts to a better (church) office environment or more people in your pews. But following the ideas and embracing the concepts in this book may cause exactly the results you're hoping for; an efficient church staff or organization with greatly improved communication skills, leading to greater church services and/or outreach ministry, resulting in healthier Christians making a greater impact on the world around them, and even major church growth. Isn't that what building God's Kingdom is all about?" -Pastor Scott Freeman, Harvest Cathedral Church "Smart Church Management is about quality not quantity. I was really impressed by this book and the brilliant ideas that Patricia shares with us with such simplicity and practicality. Somewhere along the lines of church history, Pentecostal and Charismatic church leadership equated organization and processes for not being organic and spiritual. We don't need another fast growth program for churches we need quality leadership and organizations that create quality people." - Mark Passarella - Eagles' Wings Ministries This book is a great resource for Church Boards, Business Administrators, Executive Pastors, Volunteer Leaders, Church Management Team or anyone managing church resources!

The One Book You Need for Smart Church Management & Leadership By Rich Avery You could read dozens of books on church management, leadership and administration today, or you could read just one: Smart Church Management, by Patricia Lotich. In Smart Church Management, author Lotich discusses nearly every aspect of church administration, offering thoughtful and practical insights and how-to's on topics like:* Strategic planning - identifying your church's mission, vision and core values* Empowering & managing staff, including setting job expectations and doing performance reviews* Managing the budget & properties with the mission in mind* Communications, PR, marketing, and first impressions* Decision making, problem solving, and conflict resolution - how to use your vision as your guide* Volunteer recruitment, training and empowerment* Emergency planning and disaster response* Setting up systems, teams, and committees that align with your mission and vision* Overcoming spiritual warfare* And moreAs a pastor for over 14 years, I believe Smart Church Management is an excellent resource for any pastor or ministry leader, board member, staff, or committee member. It is applicable no matter what size of church you serve, or whether you have multiple staff, are a solo pastor, work bi-vocationally, or are a new church planter. But be warned: Something interesting happened to me when I read Smart Church Management, and it could happen to you, too. The deeper I got into the book, the more I started to think back on situations I encountered in the past in the churches and ministries I've worked for. I realized that many of the bad situations and decisions that we faced then could have been avoided, or handled much better, if a resource like Smart Church Management had been around - and utilized - back then. The bad news is that we can't go back and re-do the mistakes of the past. The good news is that Smart Church Management will help pastors and ministry leaders learn from those mistakes and face today's management and leadership challenges with prayerful confidence and a clear strategy that is aligned with your ministry's God-given mission and vision.
