This is second in the series ( I've also read the third book and it was great too). She has a way to make you connect with the characters. Overnight they become my friends and I look forward to learning more about them. He's a great homicide detective who puts his kids first. His mom and dad are just great people and of course, there is the famous Shannon. A great read, an enjoyable family and a little mystery thrown in.

Just long enough, this book ends when you look up and realize you've been up all night reading and you have half an hour to get ready for school. The crescendo comes at just the part of the book when you finally gasp for air. Oh yeah, one of the best of Ms. Roses's work. Loved it!

It treats of Scripture, Tradition, the Blessed Trinity, Creation, the Angels, Original Sin, Christ our Redeemer, Our Lady, and all of the key truths of Catholicism.The wonderful folks at TAN books of Rockford, Illinois make this book, its three sequels, and Father John's "Introduction to the Bible" and "Church History" available in lovely new paperback format. The books can be purchased individually, or in sets of four, five, or six. They are well worth the price. Start with this outstanding introduction. But do avail yourself of the entire series. God bless.

The Alpha feels it is time for him to take another for himself, the pack and his pups. Angeline, has been slated as a shifter mate. She thinks it is wrong to force young women to go to the shifter town, but since her mother is in charge of the mate selection organization she has little chance of changing the practice.When she meets Clyde she feels the pull but refuses to allow him to know. He also is more than attracted and thinks this may work—if she comes around.Not your typical reluctant mate story. She is strong and after some investigation, steps up when she is needed. Her heroic actions break their resistance, but all is not over. They may have come to terms, with their own issues but the outside sources still plague the pack and the couple.Is their bond strong enough to overcome the danger. Can they trust each other and can she trust the shifter community.My first book by Ms Valentine, but it won't be my last. I enjoyed the character growth. The story is steamy, but she doesn't just throw them in bed. They have to come to terms first and it is more than just attraction getting there. She gives her characters real lives we can relate to and real problems stemming from loss and mistrust.I received an ARC for an honest review.

By Kindle Customer/Yuki Although this was a good, fast paced story, I found that unfortunately there were enough typos to interfere with the story. I truly dislike the fact that there were so many. One or two is understandable, but it seemed like there were enough to interfere with the story flow. I was irritated that even in the last sentence there was one. The use of 'had' instead of 'how' completely changes the meaning and makes no sense.I also felt like the transition from human to wolf was not detailed enough. It was never explained what happened to the clothing, if the transformation was painful (which it is almost always painful in most paranormal stories), or how long it actually takes. The author made it seem almost instantaneous...I found it weird that the other 'human females' never contacted Angelina after they were 'married', especially her best friend Samantha. That in the first month that Angelina was there, she never saw Samantha until she was killed.Otherwise, I enjoyed this story. I found it fast paced and the premise plausible. Although the character Angelina at times seemed pretty detached in the beginning, she quickly became involved after the raid.This story could be improved with more character development of the ancillary characters and less stereotyping of the 'evil bad guys' and the 'young male wolves'.

Once she finished her "investigation" she grew into the mate her mother knew she could be. She became a wonderful mate for Clyde. This book was awesome and I truly enjoyed it.

Frazier gets a call about a homicide on the Outer Banks, Two teens were attacked. One died, the other is barely clinging to life. A man now on death row awaiting execution. Does the convict have a copy cat, or is there a disciple they missed during the investigation? Frazier knows they need answers fast.Izzy left home after high school and joined the Army, becoming a doctor. When her mother died of cancer Izzy resigned her commission to take care of her seventeen year old sister, Kit. Anderson introduces her two protagonists, FBI Special Agent Frazier and ER physician, Isadore (Izzy) Campbell. Both Frazier and Campbell are dealing with demons of their past that will affect their futures. The author shares the details of Frazier learning of the bodies of two young people found on the Outer Banks Crane Island somehow connect to an old case of a serial killer. Anderson introduces her support characters and their backstories and roles they play in her story.The author skillfully develops scenes full of suspense and surprises readers with changes in her storyline. Readers see building tension in the community with each new murder. The author places her readers at Frazier’s side as he uncovers clues, creating an uneasy feeling as he is searching for a serial killer who may have been killing undetected for years. By Cari Absalon-Bogner This book was really chilling, but the development of Linc and Izzy's relationship helped soothe all the twisted psycho paths in the story. It really is astonishing what some people can do to others. Which is why you can't help but love Lincoln Frazer! What a YUMMY federal agent! And Isadora Campbell is so beautifully broken and the sparks that fly between them is amazing! I have read all of Toni Anderson's books and couldn't believe I had the other killer all figured out...but true to her writing she had such a twist that I never saw the right person coming! This was an incredibly written book, but it will also have you wanting to check your locks and be much more aware of your surroundings. Excellent read!

This man has a spectacular story and you can feel his passion to he By Marcus Page Dr. Torres has combined facts on nutrition, metabolism, training, and more along with goal setting and motivation in a very detailed big league fashion. I am myself in the health and fitness industry and would have a hard time putting this book second to any of the books I have read over the past couple of decades. You can feel this man's passion threw out the entire book. I believe this book will change many lives and it has raised my ability to help others.Thank you Dr. Torres!

I have spoken to Dr. Torres, and I was more than impressed with his energy and dedication to his patients. I am sure they say “this guy really cares about me”. So, I decided to get a copy of his book “Drop the Fat”. The book contains testimonials from those who have experienced big weight loss. There are cooking, exercising, diet, and improving metabolism tips and a lot more. I have had two personal trainers read this book, and both have praised it as “a simple and sound path to weight loss and higher energy”.I am not a body builder, and I do not need to lose a lot of weight. I attempt to keep my weight between 190 and 195 pounds. There are times, like the Christmas holidays, when I put on 5 to 10 pounds. Therefore in January, like many others, I go on some kind of diet. Instead of the usual serendipitous approach to weight loss this year, I decided to find an educated way to lose these expected pounds. This year, with book in hand, I decided to beat Christmas to the punch. Starting November 12, 2015, I weighed 195lbs. I continued my stretching work at the gym, and I developed a diet based on some of this book’s principles. I adhered to the suggestions to “jumpstart my metabolism” written about in this book, and I am down to 189 pounds and full of productive energy. This process worked for me. Now, when I decide to have another piece of that hot apple pie, I won’t be feeling so guilty. I know I have found a method to control weight gain and keep my body moving. The book is simple, and there are at least one or two chapters for all of us. It is not just about weight loss, it is about how to attain a more energetic lifestyle. My wife weighs 100 pounds, soaking wet, and, even, she has been reading the book to find some method to keep up her energy during her long and arduous teaching day.

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Reach Goal Weight & Optimal Health without Going Hungry on a Budget By Uber Potentate I am a patient of Dr. Torres' in Clearwater, Florida. I bought the book in his office for $10. This diet is high protein, complex carbohydrates low glycemic index foods and the program works. I have lost 60 pounds so far and only have 11 pounds left to reach my goal weight. I have kicked, sugar, caffeine, processed foods. We stopped using the microwave when we started this way of eating. It changes the molecular structure of foods and I consider that to be unhealthy. You can also be very poor and eat healthy. I am a prime example of that fact. If it wasn't grown I don't eat it. Dr. Torres is a great inspiration but I like the diet I was presented with 01/2015. When I recently went to his office I was told I couldn't get a copy of that diet any longer. After a year I wanted to familiarize myself with it again to make sure we hadn't drifted to far from it. I was told I would need to purchase this book. I wasn't going to but it supposedly had menu plans. It doesn't, although it does have great recipes. I was in luck, I had mad the old diet into a PDF file. As a diabetic the only fruit I can have are berries and Granny's Smith Apples. They must be eaten with protein to keep the sugar from being processed too fast. Apples go well with almond butter. Berries go well in Greek yogurt (max protein) sweetened with stevia. Don't make the mistake of thinking Truvia is the same thing as stevia. It isn't the same thing at all. Stevia is the best choice no calorie sweetener. I have steak, egg whites and steel cut oats with berries. I cook the oats in unsweetened almond milk. This has brought my cholesterol down and I no longer need medicine. My diabetes is also under control my A1C's have gone from somewhere in the 9's to a 5.3 without any medication for it. My heart rate has been cut in half. There is no longer plaque in my arteries. I am 100% more healthy than I was one year ago when I started Dr Torres' diet. If you actually stay true to the diet it will work for you. It would be my strong suggestion that you see a physician and have a complete hormone panel work up done and maybe a food allergy test completed before you get started. If there are physical issues you may not lose weight and be disappointed in the end thinking the diet doesn't work. Good luck in your weight loss endeavor.

DeBenedetto has an extremely unique writing voice, so much so that you almost feel like you're living the story along with the characters. Writing in first person, present tense for the most part (except Sara's dreams), is not seen a lot and now I wonder why. It's very personal. In the case of the Dream books the reader feels extremely connected to Sara, the protagonist and dreamer. Even if you haven't read all nine books, the author writes enough backstory to fill in the gaps.In Fever Dream, Sara's strange ability to see other people's dreams seems to make her a magnet for trouble and this story had a fresh twist I didn't see coming merging two plot lines eventually. What medical anomaly is affecting Sara's patients at the tiny hospital she runs? The dreams weave in and out of the story, giving her clues, making her crazy and ultimately leading Sara down a slippery slope that you wouldn't think a small town doctor could survive.DeBenedetto's story is filled with familial anecdotes that counteract the paranormal aspect of Sara's dreaming, giving the reader an anchor as the story unwinds. Sara's children, parents, husband lead quiet lives, do family activities, have appointments, school meetings, are boringly normal as the matriarch of the family juggles a high-powered career and the enormity of seeing the future and past in her dreams. Between the suspenseful scenes, we welcome hearing how Brian makes dinner and puts the younger children to bed while Sara slips into a sexy nightgown to wait for him. It's life. Normal life. But with a twist.You don't need to buy into the paranormal aspect to enjoy these books. The author does such a sneaky job of inserting the supernatural into his books that by the time you finish reading Fever Dream, you won't even realize you've read a paranormal.Love this cover! She can't figure out what he had to cause this and with all of the tests done, nothing makes sense. Sara starts digging to see if she can figure out what poor little Michael had. When his mother Connie gets sick as well and has similar symptoms, Sara tries everything she can do to save her. Luckily, Connie's regular doctor comes back from vacation and knows exactly what the problem is and treats Connie. With Connie on the mend, Sara wishes Dr. Ellison was here back in December so that Michael could have saved. Sara keeps dreaming about the Attorney General, Edgar Spinner. She can't figure out what is relevant with invading his dreams though. When Sara finds out that someone is trying to look into her past and dig up her criminal records, she contacts her attorney, Alex, from nine years ago to help. Will Sara figure out what is going on before it's too late? People are after her and they're out for blood. And it's not just her that's being targeted, they are going after her family and friends to try and intimidate her and draw her out. I have to say, after all these years, it doesn't seem like Sara has really grown up or gotten smarter. You would think as a person ages, they mature a bit but it seems sometimes she still acts like that College student we met in the first book. And usually when she dreams of certain people, they are relevant to something that is going to happen, yet Sara is again slow in putting the pieces together. It's like it's her first dream ever where she doesn't understand what is going on.

In the latest installment of DiBenedetto's Dream series, Sara Alderson is faced with one of the most horrific events a doctor comes up against, the inability to save a patient. And in this case, the child, Michael Marchetti, is a friend of the family. Michael's mysterious illness haunts Sara, but she barely has time to reflect on it before Michael's mother comes into the hospital with the same symptoms. This book moves swiftly, as Sara again solves her latest mystery by, once again, visiting other people's dreams. Just when I thought I had it figured out, DiBenedetto threw in a twist, and the ending put me on the edge of my seat. Definitely a 5 star story and one to put on your shelf.I was given a copy of Fever Dream to review.

The plot was spectacular and I fell in love with Lillie and Jed. The character interactions were perfectly staged and I enjoyed the drama. At first, I loved the back and forth conflict Lillie felt about her relationship with Jed. Lillie's character growth was spectacular and watching her get over her fears felt very life-like.Unfortunately, I started getting bored after chapter 18. I felt the questions I had were dragged out a little too long. The drama fell a little boring and too cliché. I absolutely hated the ending. I was so frustrated that I couldn't even process what happened in the book. The ending felt like it was extremely rushed compared to the drawn out mundane details of the second half of the book. I could not believe it ended with so little drama and effort.If you have been following me on Twitter and Instagram you saw me fall in love with this story so you're probably confused with my rating. I gave this book 3⭐ because I loved the beginning so much. I really had high hopes that the second half would get better at some point but it was really dull and too micro-managed for my taste. I actually would have given it lower stars because of the bad taste it left in my mouth but I decided to take a little time to evaluate the book wholly instead of off my last emotions.I would recommend this book to the coming of age bracket. Her breakup with "Married Matt" a year prior has left her more than a little jaded and hesitant to start a new relationship. That changes when she's out on the town with her best friend, Kate, and meets gorgeous, sexy American rock star, Jed. The chance encounter turns into a whirlwind romance and Lillie finds herself willing to give love another chance. Jed is everything Lillie could ever want in a man and the feeling is more than mutual. When the boys in the band hear Lillie sing, they know they have to recruit Lillie to go with them on tour. Despite overwhelming stage fright, Lillie wows the crowd and becomes a fan favorite. Unfortunately, Lillie's new life as a rock star and rock star's girlfriend comes crashing down when she finally learns of the huge secret Jed has been keeping from her.Gabrielle Aquilina does a nice job of detailing what I'd imagine a rock star's life to be like. From groupies, drugs and heavy drinking to living life constantly on the road while on tour goes to show that a rocker's life definitely has its drawbacks and potential downfalls. Aquilina also paints a cautionary tale of how falling in love too hard and too fast can leave a young and trusting twenty-something open to devastating heartbreak - even when it stems from a misunderstanding. Additionally, Lillie's subsequent self-destructive downward spiral is believable. In fact, the major characters in How to Catch a (Rock) Star were well-developed, believable and sympathetic in their own way - which helped me to become emotionally invested in the story.Kudos to Ms. Aquilina - she's written an emotionally charged, unique love story with lots of twists, turns, drama and a happy resolution. This is a quick, fun read!

By Anna Snow It feels like Christmas in July!I just finished reading Baby It’s Cold Outside: A Tahoe Tessie Mystery.This was a short, fun read, that I found myself wishing was longer because I wasn’t ready to let go of the characters. I love how Tessie is a regular, down to Earth woman in the busy casino world. She’s smart, sassy, and a bit rebellious, which I LOVE!I can’t wait for the next installment in the Tahoe Tessie Series.If you’re looking for a short, sassy read, this is definitely the one for you!

By Debi Gemma and T.Sue did a excellent job on “Baby it's Cold Outside.” The story-line was so well written and the plot was great. The characters were unique and very fitting in continuation with the last book.Tess was anything but pleased. A blizzard, all of the roads into Lake Tahoe blocked. That only left the Grinch and those who had nowhere to go on Christmas Eve except for here at the Royal Palace Casino and Resort. Merry frickin Christmas Eve, Tess muttered.Problems in the kitchen, it stunk to high heavens, so Tess tried to push the trash can out and got slammed right back into the kitchen. She gave it her best running start and made it, emptied the can and went to go back in but someone had shut the door and locked it.Tess was freezing to death and nobody answered her screams to open the door nor did anyone see her waving her arm at the cameras. Tess continued to try but she became to week and sleepy and suck down the wall. Tess was about to go unconscious when the door flew open and Alfie scooped her up and took her in.However Tess still went out like a light. The Dr. checked her over and hold her to take a bath, warn not hot. Tess refused to until she got a look at the security tapes to see who locked her out. They spotted a tall lanky fellow but couldn't make out any other details and no one saw anything. Tess however noticed the person was wearing a special hoodie employee gift from the Casino gift shop.Tess took off to the gift shop and let herself in she grabbed the receipts for the gifts and started going through them. There were about 20 so she took out the ladies, the short people she knew, those off work. The list was brought down to 3 men. Tess, Britton and Tate took off to the employee who lived the closest, Andrew.Andrew let them in and they tried to find out where he was that afternoon. Andrew got antsy. Tate told him that they had been to the gift shop and went through the receipts and narrowed down the suspects to him. Andrew went ballistic. He was waving it all over. Tess tried to calm him down and said maybe there was just a mistake. At the same time she made a hidden call to security and handed the phone to Britton. Tess the told Andrew that Alfie was on his way over.Andrew wanted to know how they find out that he was moving product in the snow globes? At the same time he pulled a gun out and grabbed Tess and shoved the gun into her temple. Tess didn't know she was bleeding until blood dripped onto her hand.Grab a copy and see what happens.I was given a copy for an honest review.

I love little snack bite reads that introduce you to characters and all that is going on in their world. And when the writer – or in this case writers – deliver the goods without giving away previous mystery jaunts they are diamonds in the rough. With Baby It’s Cold Outside Halliday and VerSteeg sparkle brilliantly without divulging previous capers.Time spent with the folks at Royal Palace Casino and Resort is well worthwhile, with writing that is captivating, contemporary, and witty.Baby It’s Cold Outside is a delight to read, rich with snappy dialogue and bursting with entertaining characters. Tessie is effervescent, fetching and rib-tickling. Britton is hysterical, nurturing and an enchanting bombshell dujour. Tate is magnetic, uproarious and zesty. Alfie is a richly developed player in this feisty, zany series.The only drawback was the way too quick whodunit reveal. Halliday and VerSteeg dropped the ball by telling who the culprit was rather then showing us with an extra chapter or two. The additional pages would wrap up this adventure firmly and still keep this Tahoe Tessie volume short. I was touched By Sarah Age Appropriate For: All AgesBest for Ages: 12 - 25So many books about homeschoolers either can come across as either well-intentioned books that lean toward legalism, or sound like homeschoolers gone wild now that they are ‘free’. Flight School was, in my opinion, the best book I have read about taking the next step after homeschool in a realistic yet God-honoring way. It avoids sounding legalistic (and even addresses legalism), shows some of the honest challenges, and has characters that do their best to live godly lives.This book deeply touched me, because I could see myself reflected in some of the characters and their decisions. One example of that is the challenge they face to do what is right as they head out into the world. Each of the Rivera kids face something different, but each of them come to a point where they have to make a choice to do what they want or follow what God has called them to. There were a couple of points I was holding my breath, wondering if they would make the right choice.The story flowed so well that I didn’t want to put it down. I can see how McIntire has grown as a writer. While this book was not an action book, the emotions of the characters kept me flipping pages. It is one of those books with enough diversity in characters that everyone who reads it will probably see themselves reflected in one or more of the people and situations.I highly recommend this book to homeschool graduates, those how love faith-building stories, and those who enjoy contemporary books.

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Really enjoyed the Gospel Living By Lady Bibliophile While I had trouble in spots enjoying book one, I enjoyed book two so much I want to re-read it. Jason's choices for his characters get knottier. His character motivations for people who live differently than the Sparrows gets more sympathetic. Teaching is more subtle, and through that, even more powerful. I learned things to apply to my own life from this book as each child struggles with their individual idols--not bad things in themselves, but things which grasped too tightly can become bad. Book two put the emphasis on how the main battle is really sin vs. Gospel, not world vs. homeschooler. I loved that focus.Seeing Jessie and Chris and Ben grow and wrestle with adult choices about careers and relationships was well written and easier for me to relate to, as I'm at a similar stage. Jason captures his age ranges really accurately among the older and younger kids. I also loved the way he included Katie's tender conscience. :) That's pretty easy to find in homeschool circles, and the way he wrote how family members tried to encourage and didn't know what to do by turns felt true to life. :) My main trouble in book one--seeing the people sanctify in their new-found faith too quickly--was dealt with really well in book two--as Sarge explains to Jessie that ultimately building up more rules to control your heart doesn't take care of the sin in your heart. The sin has to be dealt with at the root level. The Sparrows provide tender, Gospel-centered ministry to friends and neighbors, using the film making process to reach out to many different kinds of people. That was exciting to read about.The climax was surprising and very believable. The characters were well-drawn, and the plotting was excellent. And the ending--satisfying, yet with some subtly written loose ends at the same time. I heartily enjoyed this book, and highly recommend it as good fictional story with a worthwhile message.The Sparrow series #2 was given to me for free by the author in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

By Aidyl What I thought: Flight School reminds me a lot of a book that should be read aloud to the whole family as a bed time story, one chapter at a time. There are a lot of situations that provide great lead-ins for parents to discuss their beliefs and standards with their children.The storyline follows the different members of the Sparrow/Rivera family and the adventures, problems, excitement and growing pains they experience growing up. I especially enjoyed reading from Ben's point of view, probably because he's the oldest (I think) and therefore I was able to relate to him the best.This is the second book in the series and since I didn't read the first book I was a little bit lost. For instance: most of the book I wasn't sure how old the characters were or where they lived, but I was still able to figure out most of the story.It's clear to see that a lot of research and thought went into Flight School and I always appreciate that in a book. Also, props to the editor. As an author I often cringe while reading because of grammar mistakes, but this book was wonderfully cringe-free.This book wasn't exactly my cup of tea, but I did enjoy reading it. I felt like a lot of the "issues" that were talked about in the book were discussed one-sided and I didn't agree with all of the conclusions, but that's something I find rather common in books I read.The characters were interesting and a lot of them had their own story lines and character arches, which is something I often have trouble with when it comes to my own writing. All too often I focus on one character and everyone else is one-sided. Jason does a good job of making the majority of the characters come alive and hold their own place throughout the book.All in all Flight School was God-honoring, entertaining and filled with experiences that a most people will be able to relate to and learn from.

As one new to the world of blood pressure as I help my mother work with her high blood pressure, the book is a life send - literally. With so much information available from so many sources, understanding blood pressure has been confusing to say the least. I wish I could have found this book when she was first diagnosed because I don't think it would have scared us too badly. She uses simply terminology and explains clearly exactly what high blood pressure is, the various treatment options, specific information of the pros and cons of medications, and then a complete explanation of how diet affects HBP and how to improve simply through nutritional techniques - and the recipes she also includes at the end. Definitely a relief and an assurance to both mother and I that we can get through this together.

By ZepHead I bought this book with a bit of trepidation as there seem to be so many other ones out there talking about the DASH diet. It was a leap of faith which I am glad I took. The Wonder of DASH Diet is pretty straightforward and avoids a lot of medical mumbo jumbo. It is very simple to read and grasp the meaning of what is being discussed. Better still it reviews a few other options as well for addressing high blood pressure which is a nice touch- no solution exists in a void. It let me make an informed decision about how to proceed and is almost a how to book on how to execute the plan. It even includes a plan and recipes towards the end making it simple to succeed.Here's wishing me luck!

By Amazon Customer Being overweight can easily lead to a litany of health issues, high blood pressure only being one of them. When the DASH diet was introduces, I ignored it like most people since there is always a new fad to lose weight every year. After speaking with a few of my friends who had tried the diet, and succeeded in lowering their body weight reducing their hypertension I decided to find out more.That’s when I ran across this book in the kindle store, since I already knew a lot about high blood pressure I wasn’t expecting to find out anything new by reading this book however I was surprised to find this diet offered so many innovative ways to lose weight, reduce blood pressure and get healthy all without boring regimens or costly medications.The book is short enough that you can read it on your commute, but long enough that you get all the details you need to be successful. The wording is easy enough to understand that even my teen health students were able to understand the content- which says a lot believe me!I also liked the bonus recipes at the end of the book, I made a few and not only are they tasty, but I didn't feel deprived as some other diets leave you.

All I can say is sit down and buckle up for this Amazing book. The two main characters Shasa and Zach have so much passion, hurt and love between them that you ache to read faster so that you know what is going to happen to them. There is a lot of catch up that the author gives you in the first couple chapters as this is book 3 in the Novel of the Seven series. But you are able to follow right along and this can even be read as a standalone. Even though many from the first series are scattered throughout the novel. *I will be going back as soon as I can afford it and getting books one and two in this series. As I found many characters I enjoyed and look forward to reading their stories also.*Shasa Jefferson is terrified of water not just ocean water any water going so far as so live in the desert. Who has been dreaming of a man that she doesn't know. But she is a Dowser and her mother is determined she is going to take her place where she belongs. Helping the Archangel ZachZach is an archangel, the archangel of forgiveness, one of the Seven, a Guardian to Earth who has pulled back from the human realm and doesn't want to be hurt any more after what he considers his greatest mistake. He then finds his true love's soul in Shasa. How will he handle this knowledge?How long can he hold back? Will Zach return to watching the Earth from the Third Sphere. Will the Grigori win? How long will the passion between them be regulated to the shadows? These are all questions that will be answered as ride along on this epic, fast paced spectacular story. I highly suggest this novel and if the first two are the same Lisa has found herself a lifetime follower.

By Revenge of the Feels Lisa Hughey’s world of Archangels and their human loves is so sweet and touching that you will find yourself reluctant to leave her fantasy world when the book ends!This is my first novel from Lisa Hughey and definitely the first from The Seven Series! Thankfully, the novel can be read as a standalone in the series!One word. Humour.Shasa brings so much life and humour to the novel and most importantly, Zach’s life!Zach is this impenetrable cold fortress of stone ever since HIS Shasa died three hundred years ago and when Shasa Jefferson came into his life, it’s like…the sun shining at the iceberg!(Okay…it’s like the ice is melting!)It’s really sad and like, your heart breaks into millions of pieces on how Zach spends his time ever since Shasa was gone three hundred years ago and that moment when Shasa Jefferson dreams of what happened.(That feeling is like when someone takes your heart out gingerly and then proceed to squeeze and squash and you can feel the pain!?)Yes, that feeling!I’ll admit, that the story wasn’t capturing much of my attention from the beginning, but what made me finished this was the interaction between the characters!It’s not just the one between Shasa and Zach that makes this novel extremely sweet and humorous, but the interaction between other characters as well! Sam, for one, is going to be one of my favourite Archangels!Recommended for readers who would love their fantasy romance novels with a pinch of sweetness and humour!*Thank you to the author for providing me with an eARC in exchange for a honest review.

The plot is solid and the writing is strong and descriptive. The author has created an engaging world where there are human angels on earth with special powers as well as the Archangels from the Angelic Realm. These are not supposed to mix in a relationship, but you know what happens when something's forbidden...Zach's character is tormented and has never gotten past losing his love over three hundred years ago. It is easy to empathize with him, and to understand why he keeps Shasa at arms length. I did have a difficult time seeing the two of them together, for some reason they just did not click for me...I just didn't feel that spark between them, I'm not sure exactly why.The story itself moves well, the second half quicker than the first mostly due to the action and drama that is occurring at that point. I was able to read this in less than a day, and found the story easy to follow even though I haven't read anything else from this series yet.If you're a fan of angel books, especially when they mix with humans, this is a good story for you. Recommended for 18+ due to some language and adult sexual scenes.
