By Adrienne This was a complete impulse getting this, but I was surprised by how much I got out of this little book! The beginning gives an immensely thorough walk-through that helps you understand inflammation, what it means, and what it does. It's really helped me get my head around this whole anti-inflammatory diet that I've been hearing about, which is becoming rather "hip" these days.The explanations of inflammation and how it connects to health and diet made incredible sense, and seemed to be intensively researched by the author with a lot of medical information - but reiterated and re-worded by Ms. Reeves in an very simple, easy-to-understand way. I loved the Remedies/Diet Tips section at the end. All of it made sense, and inspired me to think about implementing them! While I do see that sources weren't referenced like the previous reviewer mentioned, I've had discussions with other experts about food and medicine, and did some of my own fact-checking - it all seems pretty legit, and certainly none of it raised any alarms.For starters getting into the anti-inflammatory trend, this is an excellent first step in my book. Definitely a primer to get you started on reading more and doing your own research, but this book truly helps you connect the whole thing together all in one place as a good beginning. I've already started making changes to the way I eat and view food!

The author makes numerous comments about research - " studies and empirical knowledge" - etc. But at no point does she actually identify or cite references for that research. She should. Including the sources for her claims would make this a much better book.

Extensive Source of Information On Inflammation and How to Deal with It By TheRose Carmen Reeves' book on natural anti-inflammatory remedies is a well-rounded and extensive source of information on the problems that cause inflammation in our bodies, what certain types of inflammation do to our bodies, and natural remedies to avoid and also to deal with inflammation. As a Holistic Health Practitioner and Master Herbalist I highly recommend her book!
