There is certainly an element of funny, just like #1, but sweet and sincere as well. It will leave you wanting more and excited for the next, without the stranglehold of a cliffhanger (thank you Toni!!)

By Jennifer Pierson: The Power of Three Readers I'm giving Public Love in a Private Place 5 stars because I LOVE the direction the author went in the story. I will be honest and say, I was a bit miffed that it was too short, leaving me impatiently NEEDING more.Julian faked his own death to escape his out of control life. The story begins with Julian and Mags going to lie low in the Far North of New Zealand. They are enjoying their new found freedom away from public scrutiny and starting a whole new life. Julian is just starting to come to grips with the fact that no one will recognize him when Mags announces she is pregnant. Will Julian be forced to return to his rock star roots?I am a HUGE fan of this series and Toni didn't disappoint with this book. She shows us how even though the characters are in love, there are still problems as a rock star isn't changed over night. Both Mags and Julian are a bit immature playing house but they grew up as the book went on, especially Julian. I loved their neighbors quite a bit. Those secondary characters rounded out the story. It was romantic, steamy, the growing in love is sincere, and the description of New Zealand was amazing. It was like I was there in person. I will end with this......OMG IT'S GOING TO KILL ME WAITING FOR THE NEXT BOOK!

Public Love is the third book in the Rockstar Romance series By SJ A copy of this title was received in exchange for an honest review.Public Love is the third book in the Rockstar Romance series. This installment continues the story of Mags and Jules and what happens after the tour is over and they go back to their private lives. Once again the scenery is set beautifully. I could see myself in that house on the coast. This time around I felt more connected to the characters. Still not as much as I would like, but better than it was in the first installment. Told in dual POV of Mags and Jules, they come to find out more about each other and where they want their lives to go. Not as many secondary characters in this one. Mags and Jules are the majority of this book with a few others cast in on the side.This can be read as a stand alone but would make more sense after reading the first installment. No cliffhanger and sort of an HEA.

By Stephanie This is the third book in this series and I was anxious to start it with the way book 1 ended. Julian MacAvoy had staged his death and gave it all up to be with Mags, the women he loved most in the world. And poor Mags, who lived for 4 months, thinking Jules was actually dead, until he appeared at her house one day. They take up residence in northern New Zealand, in a remote area, in the hopes of getting their privacy.I liked the change and growth we see in Jules in this book, however, we still see shades of the old Jules. He wavered between sulky schoolboy and excitable puppy. Strangely, she realized she loved that about him. Life was never dull when you shared it with someone as colorful as Julian McAvoy. No, Simon Green, she reminded herself. There was very little that revolved around his love of music in his life, but when it slowly started to reappear, I was very happy! "Yeah, well," he tried to be dismissive, but he knew he couldn't fool Mags. "You can take the band away from the creative, but you'll never take the creative out of the band." For the fleeting moments she saw him, a new sense of contentment encircled him. But for him to be that way, she had to lose him to the muse. Music had become his mistress. Their life changes drastically when she finds out she's pregnant. How will Julian deal with that?I loved how this book ended, was very happy to see him back in the world he both loved and hated. I cannot wait to see how book 4 will play out, given some new things we learn about in this book.And having finished this book, I absolutely LOVED the titles of books 1 and 3 now!!I was gifted a copy of this in exchange for my honest review.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Beautiful. By Six I'm an adult - and this book almost made me cry! It is so beautiful, and original, and cretive, and moving. It begins with Katen, a donkey colt, going with his mother to Bethany, just outside of Jerusalem, as she carries their owners to see Jesus, who is coming to Passover. The conversations between Katen and his mother are lively and wonderful, as Katen states he would love to carry Jesus, yet his mother states that since Jesus is the Son of God, he would undoubtedly be carried by a large white horse or an elephant, not a humble donkey. But when they arrive, Jesus, who can speak donkey language (he states he can speak the language of all God's creatures, since he is the son of God who created them all), asks Katen's mother for permission for Katen to carry him, and assures the anxious mother donkey that he would not ask if he did not know that Katen was strong enough. This part, where Jesus approaches the animals in such a humble, loving way, is beautiful. And so Katen begins his journey of carrying Jesus and Jesus names him Lokael, meaning one who carries the Lord. The book continues as Lokael carries Jesus up to the Mount of Olives, through the triumphant walk in Israel, and is there watching while Jesus is beaten and made to walk to the cross. And after he is risen Jesus appears to Lokael and speaks to him. This rendition of the Jesus' being crucified and rising again is beautiful, original, creative, and yet so accurate, and incredibly moving. The book ends later, on a beautiful note that captures everything Lokael has learned. The illustrations are beautiful, and appear to capture the mood and flavor of Israel in the time of Christ This book is strongly recommended - I would say it is written for second grade, through upper elementary, through middle school readers - but adults will enjoy it too!

By Barbara Pack The story of Lokael: The Donkey Who Carried Jesus is also the story of Jesus, His triumphal entry into Jerusalem, His fulfilling of scripture, and His resurrection - told through the eyes of Loshem, a lowly donkey, and her colt, Katen – whom later Jesus names Lokael. The illustrations and story line give parents the opportunity to talk with their children about God’s gift of hope through Jesus’s life and death.

Lokael: A Special Children's Book By Laurence Keim I read Lokael with particular interest, because this book for children seemed to me to be a unique approach to the Biblical story of Jesus' ride into Jerusalem on a donkey. I enjoyed reading the book and I think that it is a great way to interest children in a serious Bible story that they might not otherwise find as compelling. Also, the idea that animals can communicate among themselves, and only the Lord (their Creator) would be able to understand what they were saying to each other actually makes a certain kind of sense, calling attention to the fact that Jesus Christ is the Creator of the earth and all that dwells thereon. Also, the name Lokael made me check further about its meaning, because of the "el" at the end of the name, because "el" is a derivative of God's name with elohim being a plural of deity. All in all, I believe Lokael is a worthwhile book for children, and as an adult, I enjoyed it too.

The book starts by telling us what is GMOs. The book explains in detail how to avoid Monsanto and the harmful food. This book is really informative. Got to know a lot about genetically modified foods and its effects. A very small book but with a lot of information.

This book was very informative and finally helped me truly understand what all the fuss is about. A great guide on how to avoid eating these toxic foods. Even provides examples of these foods! Highly recommended!

Not only do these foods have implications for our health and well being, they have a tremendous impact on the environment. It's startling to see how many basic foods have been affected by the presence of GMOs and how deeply the food industry has penetrated government bureaucracy. It will be interesting to see how these developments unfold going into the future.

The book is well written engaging the reader with well developed characters, an emotional story and a message that will inform and inspire the reader to action. Great appreciation goes to the author for his work in researching the plight of the lost children and his passion for greater awareness and justice.

I loved The Fisher Boy by Darren Sapp By Nick I loved The Fisher Boy by Darren Sapp. Having been to Ghana, I could smell the smoke in the air of Africa, as well feel the hot African sun. Darren did a great job in this book of describing the hopelessness of these boys who are kept in virtual slavery working for people that "own" them and make them work unbelievable hours, in the grueling sun, in a boat most of the day, and many can't swim at all. Let's hope this book gets read widely in Ghana and someone with leadership will pick it up as a cry to end slavery of ALL sorts in Ghana.

Dean is just like his daddy, blunt, "do you still insist on only wearing pink panties?" He likes to go to the extremes like his daddy, "Dean’s lip abruptly pull away from me and he growls, “Never effing question if I want you again baby. Understand?" He's learning to handle his woman with care just like his daddy had too, "Dean groans and grips me tighter, “Is the a** wiggling an invitation or are you still trying to get comfortable?" Dean is a mini version of Logan and one thing these boys possess that I really love is when the fall they fall hard, when they love they love hard. Maybe, I'm hoping we'll get a spin off series with Dean and Megan's friends.

What I could not get into was all the cussing. It wasn't necessary and actually took away from the story. Considering how much of the story stretched you're imagination to be believable, this just hindered the story. Another drawback was the little girl. I know in this modern age it's considered cool to raise ill mannered kids, but my daughter will never be that spoiled or feel her looks justify awful behaviour. I wanted to pop her behind a couple of times and beat the adults for allowing it.So, if you are a modern, trendy person this book is excellent. If you have morals and values, this book is o.k..

Thereby from the x line, at the actual age point, putting on, upside down, the length (height) of the measured telomere result, and then see how it meet the average line, and in case nut just fitting the line, then which different biological age the telomere diagram then tells us we are having. So by this measure of the length of the telomeres, we biologically are told if either our lifestyle are, and has been, not good, correct, or better than the normal. And in connection to this result we also have to state how the living have been, and are, by using a lifestyle score result and there give from 0 to 4 points to each of the questions: Diet, Alcohol, Sleep, Smoking history, and Exercise. For Diet a 0 if “Eats well, does not skip meals, eats balanced meals, eats negligible fast food”, and the opposite endpoint 4, if “Skips meals, is a poor eater”. And then best if total being under 6, but still worried if any of the 5 are getting a number higher than 2.And for example in connection to hormones we read about a television reporter who one day in horror contacts Elaine, telling that handfuls of her hairs have started falling off her head, and besides also having acne. She tells that haven’t taken more hormones that previously allowed by Elaine, but it turns out that her female level of the natural steroid hormone DHEA is more than 3 times too high. After this she then has to confess that she by a doctor who she had interviewed had been given “supplements” to keep on looking young; and then this supplement which she had been taking during 6 month turned out to be DHEA (for example used by bodybuilders)!In the book there among other also are interesting writings concerning chronic sicknesses and stress in connecting with the result in faster shortening of the telomeres.But all together, to me it’s a fantastic god and informative book.

Percy Although I’m not a member of a church, I read Dr. Kavar’s book with surprise: surprise at how much I learned about the issue, but also how much I enjoyed it. Kavar’s writing is engaging and clear, He tackles complex issues and entrenched attitudes honestly and with compassion – and with liberal sprinkles of humor. His long experience as a church leader and consultant provides a series of case studies that take readers inside the difficult and often painful processes of renewing church congregations.His method is powerful, starting with his analysis of what contemporary Christians, largely American, but in other countries as well, are actually looking for. He shows how the old model of church, as the hub of people’s lives in a community, no longer holds. Instead, he proposes that the local church needs to become a “spiritual center,” akin to the various other “centers” that provide specific services in people’s lives – like the fitness center, the shopping center, the Cineplex, and so on. And perhaps his most salient contribution regards the “service” (not his word) the church should provide: to be a venue for people to share authentic spiritual experiences, to find ways together to live consonantly with that authenticity, and to make a presence for those values in the larger community of which the local church is just a part.In a psychologically astute series of chapters, Kavar uses case studies – stories about churches he has worked with as they face the need for revitalization – to illustrate the problems, the options, and the possibilities facing the congregations. Using insights from sociology, psychology, family systems theory, theology, and spirituality studies, he first proposes his vision for the transformed church as “spiritual center,” then reflects on the grieving process required as it becomes clear that the old “attraction” or “social hub” model of church is dying. He discusses “transforming the local church,” then “establishing a new model of the local church.” Finally, in a beautiful concluding chapter and epilogue, he describes his vision of the heart of the transformation – spirituality itself, which has been the prime focus of his writing for many years. A key theme throughout, one that is blindingly obvious after he points it out but that had not previously occurred to me, is that the transformation of the local church needs to be from membership defined by belief in a specific credal statement toward membership defined by shared values about spirit, community, and social engagement.For anyone interested in religious and spiritual communities, this book is a must-read. It will shift your paradigm and deepen your appreciation for the revolutionary changes coming to local churches. It left me hungry to find such a church in my local community.

Transforming a congregation ain't as easy as you may think By Russ Burck I'm just over 1/4 of the way into Lou Kavar's book, Contemporary Churches . . .. I'll add to this as I keep reading, but I am choosing to post this review now bc I like what I've so much. Kovar's work is wise, thoughtful, informed about spirituality and religion in the modern world, and attentive to one of the major religio-spiritual themes of our time. This theme is that, in the past, people lived their faith in ways that were congruent with their social and economic circumstances. Times are changing now, so churches and people who provide spiritual guidance need to resonate with the times.Kavar tells his own story of working as an interim pastor of a distinguished, historical church in Tuscon. This experience was not an entirely smooth ride for the author or members of the church. This story alone would make this book a priceless treasure of things to consider when we seek transformation in a congregation. At this point in my reading, I'm not clear how Kavar resolved the problems that came up when he and the church council led the congregation on a transformational journey. All by itself, however, this story is an eye-opener about the deep, dark powers that efforts to transform stir up. More about these issues in an update.Your

Solid wisdom for contemporary churches By Alan M Eddington When I hear or read about "contemporary" church renewal, I automatically presume that it will be about trying to preserve the structure and institution of 'church'. There will be an outline, and then a detailed list of instructions in how to make the 'church grow'. Always, it is about the 'life' or 'health' of the institution. But this is where Lou Kavar's book is so radically and refreshingly different. His focus is on the human being, not the institution. He rightly advocates for the institution to serve the believer, or the seeker, and not the other way around. He then demonstrates what it is that people are seeking when it comes to nurturing their 'spirit' and their 'spirituality'. Those institutions which can adapt to providing this type of 'contemporary' ministry will survive, and thrive. Those institutions which simply want to try new gimmicks to preserve their 'business as usual' approach to ministry will disappear...and rightly so! Hurray for Lou Kavar in bravely confronting the out-moded and out-of-touch religious institutions. But even greater congratulations to Lou Kavar for clearly and simply providing a solid alternative!

Each story is like a short meditation, or thought on an everyday event, but the author's storytelling is very engaging. You can read as much or as little as you have time for. I think you will be encouraged, you will be challenged, and you will begin to see common occurrences in a new and holy way. Though the book is written for seniors, I think anyone on a faith journey with Jesus will love it. (I did, and I'm not a senior!)

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Loved It! By Natasha H Elianne Adams does it again!! As always with her books, once I started reading this story I couldn’t put my Kindle down. I mean – even my kids were getting on my nerves with the interruptions! Don’t they understand mommy is reading important stuff! Sheesh – anyway, back to the book. First let me say, that in general I hate love triangle books. They give me anxiety, I get overly attached to all the characters, jealousy stresses me out and someone is always getting hurt or let down. I hate them, mostly because of how I don’t like to deal with stressful situations – and I try to avoid books with these scenarios because of that internal flaw.Now, that said - of course Elianne would be the author who makes all of this ok for me. I’m not kidding, for a good chunk of this book I was having intense stress and heart burn, I didn’t know if I could handle the drama! However, because I know my author never lets me down I continued on. Thank goodness I did. Elianne made this story so amazingly beautiful and worth the stress and heartache. The characters are so real, so honest and intense. I loved them all – not all the time – but by the end they all had a place in my heart. There was one scene, toward the end of the book where I just started crying. The ugly cries too. If you’ve read the book, you’ll probably know what I’m referencing. It just touched all my feels, I couldn’t take it! Gosh I love this series, I love this author, and I will read everything she writes. I love these stories and characters – I highly recommend these books!

I LOVE all of Elianne Adams books but this one is my favorite so far! I can't wait to see what she conjures up next for this series! If you've not started this series yet then I highly suggest you to do so. I can't recommend this author and series enough! Ten star book!I'm leaving this review of my own free will. The adventure was suspenseful and I didn't want to put it down. I am also captivated by Mari's ongoing relationship with Aiken and her new growing relationship with Rogan. Loving two men was tearing her apart. Even though, I had missed one of the previous books in the series, I was still able to enjoy this one. I was given an ARC to give an honest review.

Everything is laid out in a simple and straightforward manner. Recommendations for diet, exercises, treatments, etc. are easy to follow and hopefully ease the pain of sufferers.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. a great small guide book to arthritis By Michael H The book gave me a better understanding of how arthritis occurs and how you can take steps now to start preventing it from being a problem future on in life, basically eat the right foods, exercise well and this will help you 80%.I can take some of the instructions and help older members of my family who are starting to show symptoms by helping them with therapy, exercise their diet so hopefully they don't have to go for the surgery option

Another great series and perfect for fans of sweet romance By TBreakiron Hanna Walker returns to Walker Island determined to film the documentary that will get her accepted into the program she wants to enroll in. Unfortunately there is one major thing that stands in the way and that is Joel who doesn't want her to make the documentary about what really happened to Poppy. He's afraid that she wants to use the documentary to absolve her grandparents for what happened when they married and presumably broke Poppy's heart. But what if there is more to the story and what if Joel and Hanna fall in love along the way. Can Hanna possibly make things better for her grandma even if the town calmed down about the controversy quite awhile ago? Or is she going to stir up a hornet's nest that would be better left alone. This contemporary romance novel is perfect for those readers who like Bella Andre's writing style but find her books to be a little too racy. As this sweet romance leaves things to your imagination. The end of the book even leaves a good idea of which Walker sister the next book will be about.

The heroine comes back home, encounters her childhood crush, he now sees her as a woman, all of a sudden she has deep feelings for him, they also sleep together, have a falling out, she realizes she loves him and then I stopped reading. I had to start skipping pages. It just wasn't a good book at all. Maybe if it was longer and the author took more time for you to get to know the characters maybe it would been better but the book basically happened in a span of a week. I wouldn't recommend this book.

51 of 55 people found the following review helpful. Lucy Kevin is No Bella Andre By Mona Abramesco If this was the first book I had read by Bella Andre it would most definitely be my last. I have read all of Bella Andre's series, and this book lacks everything I've come to love about her writing. Credibility is a major issue. In chapter one the reader is told that Hanna Walker, the main female character, is 23 and that her love interest, Joel Peterson is seven years older. Easy math - he is thirty. How then, in Chapter two is it possible for Joel to know his secretary for almost thirty years - when he first started to learn about running the shipping business. That's a very bright infant!When Joel and Hanna embark on a trip to find out information about Joel's missing aunt, pieces of information that would require the equivalent of looking for the proverbial needle in a haystack magically appear, not one but two women in their forties seem to know a lot about this one woman who disappeared at least twenty years before they were born! Within a matter of days Joel and Hanna are in love. That might be ok but the character development is so inadequate that the reader is not vested enough to care. The reader learns very little about Joel until nearly the end. At thirty he his running his family's shipping business, but would rather be sailing. He is the only one left in his family but we never learn anything about how or when his parents died, what he went through to shape the person he is, any past relationships or any other information needed to flesh him out. The reader is given more information about Hanna but I was left wondering what made Hanna fall "body, mind and soul" in love with Joel. Perhaps if the reader had been given a glimpse into the night they spend together the connection might have been more plausible. With regard to the other characters in the book, the reader is told about each of them but rarely shown. The only character with a glimmer of hope was Ava, but she is no Mary Sullivan, and her promise to dead people could just as easily have been broken in chapter two. Of course, then there would be no book. The way things turned out, that probably would have been a good thing. Joel and Hanna marry, seemingly overnight, with the whole island in attendance, and presumably Hanna will return to graduate school and Joel will chuck the business and go sailing with the mussel men. Really? Like Poppy, I am fleeing Walker Island. I can only pray that Lucy Kevin is not Bella Andre.
