As an avid health buff, the concept of having a fixed method of tracking my workouts and activities is a great step in achieving maximum results. I've been looking for the most effective and convenient sports wear, and so far this book provided some insight into my choices. It was well written and presented. It was awesome and useful.

I've been considering a watch that is suitable for his active lifestyle, and the Vivoactive has been one I have been looking at. Not only does this book thoroughly describe the features of the Vivoactive, it also compares it to its competitors and points out weaknesses that can be an annoyance to some users. This extensive research is helpful when shopping for a fitness watch.

By Shelia Sinquefield I have bought several of these "smartwatches" over the last decade and had a pretty steep learning curve with each watch and wished that I had better understood what the device actually did and how it would effect how I wanted to use the watch. This guide will eliminate any guesswork about the pros and cons of this device and how it compares with other similar devices. The book is well written, easily understood and laid out in very comprehensive chapters and paragraphs outlining each feature. I received this ebook at a discount for a review and am impressed with the writing and editing of this book and feel it is superior to many other ebooks available.

By Glenn Marshall This book is the story of a conspiracy of false accusations against an innocent person. This was the complete opposite of what she expected in 'God's Organisation'. I suspect it might be heavy going unless you have some experience with the cult and the way it operates however it gives a damning expose on how the organisation treats its members and women in particular.

0 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Not Continuing with "Lost Girls" By bethcross I openly admit to being a middle-aged woman reading YA fiction. Maybe it's not written for my demographic, but nonetheless, I have read some great stories I would otherwise have missed. This is not one of those. I am being generous with three stars. First, this prequel needed tighter editing. Secondly, the two main characters, Sapphire and Bird, are wholly unlikeable. I get they've had crappy lives and they live in poverty, surviving on strip club dancing, theft and drugs. THAT'S the parts I can forgive. What I can't condone in this prequel is the complete FU attitude. You owe me so I'll take and do anything I want. They have no remorse - they are entitled to their bad behavior. They are entitled to walk into a supermarket and (direct quote) "We'll eat our peaches before we pay for them, thank you very much." And then run out of the store laughing at all "the jealous old ladies" They're not jealous of stupid badly-behaved children attempting sex in public places, they're disgusted their tax dollars are supporting them! I can't say I've never found myself in similar situations (and on both sides), but I never had any assumptions that because my mother was an alcoholic I could treat everyone else like s***! I was looking forward to reading "Lost Girls" (previously published as "The Butterfly Clues". It's been on my Wish List forever. Now, I think I will probably skip it. The writing of this prequel is not bad in itself, but the attitude behind it leaves a lot to be ashamed of. I work with the public in retail and I see this every day - it's pervasive and a whole generation of like-minded people will either die young and stupidly or amount to very little unless they overcome their circumstances and more importantly, themselves. I understand Sapphire is the murder victim in "Lost Girls". To mirror her own POV: good - I hope they got her before she procreated.

This is a book I've been giving to all veterans of all wars as a handbook to help them to better understand themselves and to help those who love them to understand their combat vet. The feedback I have gotten is overwhelmingly positive and encouraging. One said to me just the other day, "This was the greatest gift. My family now understand who I am and know much better why I am the way I am." Everyone who returns from downrange is a different person than who they were when they went off to war. We owe them every resource possible to help them find their "new normal" upon return. This is one of those resources!

Mic, this has to be the second! The fact that it is a Charlotte Hughes romance with humor was the reason I read the description at all! There is always something funny and interesting going on in her stories, how can anybody resist that?So Gator and Mic had met years before but she was still a kid and needed time to grow up. Years later she is back in town and checking on her grandmother when they cross paths again. The feelings are still there, their bodies are still begging for relief, the attraction is undeniable. Only there are a few problems working against them. She lives hours away and has a job doing what she loves. He is certain that he isn't good enough for her anyway. He is certain that he isn't going to be good enough for anyone. Can she find it in her to move? Can he learn to believe in himself?

By Kindle Konvert What a sweet, sensual book!I thoroughly enjoyed this story about second-chance love between Michelle and Gator.They felt the first stirrings of love one summer when they were teenagers, but Michelle, at 16, was frightened of how she felt, and Gator, at 18, felt that he was unworthy of her. Michelle has returned to Temptation to see to her grandmother, Reba, as a huge hurricane is coming in. Gator, the reluctant town sheriff, comes along to check on Reba and comes face-to-face with Michelle for the first time in 16 years.Gator is commitment shy and doesn't want to be tied down, and Michelle has recently been disappointed in love – even though it wasn't quite fireworks in the physical department, but she was ready to settle down.The writer hooked me in with her opening paragraph, as she has great descriptive skills. I loved how the story unfolded, using the tempestuous weather as a backdrop to Michelle and Gator’s love story. There was some great tension between them, as well as humour and tenderness. Lovely read!

Michelle and "Gator" had feelings for each other when she was just 16 and he was 18. They went their separate ways and hadn't seen each other since they were teens. Michelle is back in town to try to convince her grandmother that she needs to leave because a hurricane is expected to be a direct hit to the small town she grew up in. Of course grandmother refuses and the story goes from there. Gator is just as attractive to Michelle as he was when she was a teen. There is a bit of conspiring between her grandmother and Gator's mother....just enough to move them in the right direction. This was a good book...not great...but good. It is an easy read with an HEA.Thanks to NetGalley for an ARC of this book!

So even if there is a point with possible merit, there is no way to understand what the author is trying to say. Tweets are more substantive that this useless book. I always read reviews so I was led taken in by all the 5 star raves. I hope the teenage sister mentioned on one of the reviews is able to get her hands on some good style advice style. To summarize what I "learned" from reading this book: Stand up Straight! Be Nice! Wear Clothes that Fit! Take Shower! Wear Clean Clothes! OK, got it? You don't need a book to tell you any of that. You have already heard it from your grandmother a 1,000 times. Right?

I really liked how the author started with the discussion of improving self-esteem and self-love first before discussing the things that we can improve physically like hairstyles, fashion, make up, and the like. It gave me the understanding that looking at your inner characteristics should be given a priority and should not be disregarded when it comes to developing ourselves. Improving our inner styles would contribute a lot to our presence physically. This book is great. It provided helpful tips to almost everything about keeping one’s self in style. If you want to be stylish inside and out, this ultimate guide is perfect for you.

On the other hand, a book like this gives me a deeper appreciation of all the things women must go through in order to look good day in and day out, things that I pretty much take for granted. Author Chloé Briand has assembled a plethora of great information on having great style and this book is well worth reading even if you're a guy like me. Remember, a well placed compliment can work wonders on a woman's disposition!

It fills a very important gap with respect to current prophecy books in that very few address the Olivet Discourse. Additionally, what few that do tend to be very long and cumbersome. Not so with Dr. Hughes book! The only suggestion that I would have for a latter edition is the inclusion of Biblical text whenever cited and perhaps the full text of the Olivet Discourse somewhere in this fine little volume.

This is a language administrated by control, intimidation, abstention and threat and by an external imposition dictating what to eat, when, how much, how to feel and what to think before, during and after eating. Many are convinced that food must be feared, that you have to exercise a lot to lose weight, that you have to count calories, and routinely weigh yourself. Many people are mistaken, confusing how they think about reality and its true nature. This confusion creates suffering.

We should take another moment to consider a fundamental question: what is obesity?

The traditional definition of obesity fits in with the mechanistic philosophy, which regards good health as the absence of risk factors. According to this outlook, obesity is a disease and health is the lack of disease. The weight centered approach assumes that losing weight is essential to improving health. About the Author Ayelet Kalter (M.Sc.RD) is the founder and managing director of the "Eating Dialog Center, for treating obesity and eating behaviors". The Center is a pioneer of HEAS principles in Israel. Kalter is also the CEO of the Israeli nonprofit organization for preventing size discrimination. She is a clinical dietitian with a degree in biochemistry and nutrition from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, in collaboration with the School of Social Work at Tel-Aviv University. Kalter studied psychotherapy in the Program of Psycho-dynamic Approaches to Adult Development Comprehension at Tel-Aviv University. She also studied family therapy, group directing and studies at the Israeli Center of Body and Soul Health. Kalter attends and lectures at conferences both in Israel and abroad. She writes newspaper articles, takes part in radio and television shows and serves as a consultant in her field for firms and institutions. Furthermore, Kalter lectures to M.Sc. nutritionist students at the Faculty of Agriculture, Rehovoth. In the past, she was the chairwoman and spokeswoman of "Atid" - the Association of Clinical Dietitians in Israel. Scholarly read about diet and health By Molly Zenk I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest reviewFREE YOURSELF FROM THE DIET LANGUAGE by Ayelet Kalter starts with a very interesting premise: Is obesity the problem in a society trying to be healthy or is the way we approach losing weight the problem? According to most schools of thought, obesity is a disease and health is the lack of disease. Can you be obese and healthy at the same time? Why do 95% of diets fail?As someone who has struggled with weight loss since hitting my 30s and having 3 kids, I'm always on the look out for diet options. I've tried just about everything that I thought I could stick to (Atkins, calorie counting) and even those that I knew I couldn't (apple diet). I'm not unhealthy. I get plenty of exercise. I don't make superb food choices but I'm not only eating junk food either. Why was I having trouble losing weight? I was hoping FREE YOURSELF FOR THE DIET LANGUAGE could offer some insight into the process instead of just another 'do this -- trust me it works' routine sales pitch. What I found was a very scholarly, informative book about how diet language affects our way of thinking and, even, our way of life with the obsession to be healthy, which usually equates to being thin. Thin isn't necessarily healthy just like obese isn't necessarily unhealthy. Once we switch from the old way of thinking to mindful eating, true change can take place.If you're looking for an inspirational, easy to read self help book, this isn't really the book for that. It's very scholarly with footnotes and citations. It reads like an academic book more than self help. The information inside if very valuable but, personally, I think you need to be in the right mindset before you open it up. If you're not ready to focus and really take in what Kalter is saying, you won't benefit from the valuable information.I recommend the book if you're looking for a scholarly approach to diet and weight loss.

Yet, studies have since refuted this assumption, and from her experience she has learned that it is far from reality, but even so, this is still the given opinion among the masses.The pursuit of thinness, the diet that accompanies it, and the failure therein has created alanguage (for lack of a better term). A language of eating - the Diet LanguageShe brings us back to Mindful Eating. Same and normal eating vs crash diets, and the diverse eating habits of people in general.She takes us on her journey from being part of the diet institution business to helping people eat for their bodies.She does indicate that every person has a set point which is their destined weight, and that genetics is a huge component in the tendency for obesity - and dieting in itself intensifies this tendency.She states that 95% of people who go on a diet fail and regain the weight (if not more) within 5 years.In this book, We learn about how many live life yearning for what will be, not living in the now - this is part of the problem. And it's a powerful statement not only for weight issues, but for life in general. If we always live in the past or future, what is happening to our present?I do find the first portion of this book, however, quite sad and very statistical, making me feel defensive about what I want to achieve in my fitness and health.She does, however, goes on to describe how weight is neither a measure of health, nor a measure of success or failure...and happiness has no weight. This in itself makes this book not just about weight, but about changing our way of thinking, about being happy, and thinking positively.We learn about Mindful thinking - not just thinking emotionally, but using all of our senses to be fully present in the here and now. This practice allows us to learn acceptance, being in the now, observing self, and the ability to let go.There are several exercises in the book in order to practice mindful thinking (meditation), which she encourages us to do 15 minutes a day.With respect to eating, we are introduced to Mindful Eating - focusing on the taste, texture, and source of the food served. Enjoying food instead of just eating to eat whether or not we are hungry.Overall, it is not a light-hearted how-to book, but a philosophical view on society, behaviour, and bringing more mindfulness into our lives. If you are ready to take the steps to live in the now, not in the "what ifs," I'd recommend this book for you. Mindful Eating: Free Yourself From The Diet Language By sonia porter I received this book for my honest review for a very small fee my opinion is my own.I am always on the prowl for a good self help book on trying to loose and maintain my weight. As a child Ive always struggled but after my 1st child I ballooned my weight and have been struggling til now. I have done quick diets ,liquid diets,pr-packed foods you name it i've been there done that. I liked the book because it brought me back to the way the mind should think as far as dieting is concerned. Like anything its a training and a will to want to loose the weight so understanding the language and the terms of the book is important. If your looking for a quick fix this is not the book for you this is more of an educational book to teach you how to mold your mind for better eating and living.

For anyone who thinks we should learn in all we do, this book allows much for readers to consider. Are we stuck in our old ways of growing up and all that was imprinted upon us? This author provides very good logic and refreshing ways of looking at all most of us already think we know. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is earnestly, intentionally attemping to not just know God's word, but seeking to live it in daily life. Much good food for thought within this book, and I anxiously await the next writing.

Well, this falls right in with a lot of fun moments, tense, sexy, and sad moments in the life of a couple connected through family and friends. This story revolves around Theo Courant the “Oh Too Wealthy” best friend to Chessie Gibson’s brother, Jack. Being that their parents were best friends and the guys are four years older than she is, she has known Theo all her life. As kids normally do the three would bicker and tease one another. As Theo did with his sister, Sadie, his friend Ethan’s sister Lia. But as Chessie got older and started to develop Theo really poured on the teasing. The reason being he felt an attraction and all three guys had “The Bro Code” in effect. This kept him aware of that fact and kept him away from her. Then it just became a fine art of making her crazy just to see what she would do. Chessie was really easy to get riled up. So, it became second nature to do so. Now all these years later he has been injured in a skiing accident and his sister Sadie calls Chessie in a panic asking Chessie to go check in and be with him at the hospital. She is not a happy camper. One, it is snowing. Two, she has been working her tail off and it’s her first night off in weeks. Three, she just can’t stand Theo! Yes, he is sexy as all hell, he’s rich and he has a killer smile but the minute he opens his mouth she just wants to choke him. Then, in the next he can say something funny and make you laugh, pissing her off. When she finally gets to him he is just obnoxious. But it could be when she got there she looked like a drowned rat and the grocery bag she was using as a purse broke and one thing that fell out amongst many was a strip of condoms. Asking if she wanted to put them to use wasn’t too far off the mark. Their bantering is a lot of fun it gives a lot of insight into who they are a people and what they each want. How little they truly knew about each other. And what they can still learn of their heart and of each other’s heart. You will totally enjoy this book. Short and sweet. By Stephenee * I received an ebook in exchange for an honest review. *This is book 4 in the Meadowview Heat Series and while you could read this book as a stand alone, the previous books contain the same characters and they are all equally amazing, so why not start at book 1?!? If you do happen to start here though, you will not be disappointed, these are two very important characters that the reader can't help but love.Chessie and Theo are as opposite as any two people can be, yet when fate forces them together they find out that opposites really do attract. I loved the dynamics between the characters in this story. Chessie is so down to earth and real and Theo is so spoiled and fake that it just doesn't seem like they will survive the time together, let alone fall in love! The book had it's predictable parts but it also had those laugh out loud, I can't believe the author went there parts and that is what keeps the reader guessing. The author doesn't give the reader a chance to catch their breath before she throws something else at them.The characters are instantly relatable and are fun for the reader. The reader becomes immersed in their world and doesn't want to ever leave. I love how the characters are all inter-connected and the friendship and love between them comes through in each sentence that you read. The author does an amazing job making the book fresh and different than the usual romance and the author takes the time to fill in some of the backstory so that the reader can read this as a standalone if they wanted.The plot is quick moving and it is one that the reader just doesn't want to end. The chapters go by quickly and before the reader knows it hours have passed and they still don't want to stop. This is one of those books that you need to read when you have plenty of time to get through it so that you don't have to take a break (because you won't want to). Add this one and the previous books to your TBR list and be prepared to embark on a Meadowview marathon because once you start there is no stopping! Enjoy, this series is amazing and is a must read for any and all that enjoy romance, a bit of mystery and plenty of love, friendship and caring.

I think Chessie & Theo's love/hate relationship is what makes the book! I love the banter between them.
