Bitten on the wrong day...ends with a great HEA - Riley & Clara By Smokenator The one day Clara forgot to take her furry tablets, that is the day she gets bitten by a werewolf and kills him. Ce needs to stay with the dead werewolf's pack to see if she will change... If his family doesn't kill her first...Riley, enforcer to the Stratton Wolves, married the wrong woman, one he turned then divorced. She tnow sends her boyfriends after him to make sure that they at least maim him... Death would be better... Riley's sister, Kelli, is also married to his buddy, Max the alpha of their pack.The only way to keep the peace in these two packs seems to be an exchange. One problem for another...hehehe. Little does Ce and Riley know, life as they know it will never be the same... Starting with Riley running after her as she escapes...or tries to.Ce doesn't make Riley's life easy he's wolf wants her and he's wolf really really wants her... Hmm Riley we wonder why.. Dumb man.Kelli and Ce become great friends. When Ce let her nick name for Riley slip... Kelli had a laughing fit...Ce is a cop at heart and even waiting to see if the virus has taken a hold of her, her instincts to protect was still strong. In a situation that occurred she earns Max respect.Max knew from the moment he met Ce she was turning... Slowly Riley realized that Ce was more than just another woman... When they come together it's hot and...hot!Things seem to always crop up and well you got to read about it...And Ce, ever the cop and protector, does what she can to save the day... all I can say is that Mina Carter is a true plot mistress.She writes her women sassy and strong with their men as strong alphas...I love the way she gives you a story and add some unexpected twists that makes you want to read that last page first to see what really happened.... I love your work Mina Carter!!!

Not only is she and her partner, Tom, dealing with human criminals they have to respond to calls involving the "supernatural beings". An alarm to a local restaurant puts Ce on a path she never imagined. The restaurant has been broken into and trashed and the biggest wolf they have ever seen is cleaning out the kitchen. Unfortunately, Ce and Tom are not packing "wolf" ammunition and Ce is scratched in the take down. Due to pack law, Ce has to remain with the local pack until the first full moon to see if she is infected and will turn. In steps Riley, the pack enforcer. He is 6 feet of hot mess and Ce can't help but ogle her babysitter. As danger pops up, Riley and Ce realize they are drawn to each other in ways that make no sense...wolf vs human. What has Ce gotten herself into this time?I love a good love story with strong female lead. Ce isn't your typically woman who needs a man to save her. She is usually the one doing the saving. But a chance encounter with a crazed werewolf pushes Ce's to her limits. She has to wait out the next full moon with the incredible sexy Riley and he is not bashful about being naked! The story makes for a quick read (one day) which was disappointing. I would have liked to see the relationship progress a little slower but werewolf stories tend to move fast with the mate thing and all. I would like to see a fourth installment delving into Ce's change. That will be interesting!5 starsReviewed by Crystal M.
1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Favorite of the three By Angie_stl Of the three Stratton Wolves books out now, this one was my favorite. I'm a sucker for a strong female cop character, and Ce is definitely that. Riley isn't too bad himself, especially after I realized he is Kelli's little brother, and was in both the first and second books. He's the closest thing the pack has to a police officer and soldier that the pack has, so I think these two do-gooders will go far together. And Riley definitely deserves his HEA after what has happened to him in the past. The only mistakes I found in this book, compared to the few in the first, were issues with the British slang compared to American. But that almost always happens when an author has the location of their story somewhere they've never lived, unless they have someone from that area letting them know the differences. Again, these mislocated slang words do not take anything from the amazing story. If you're a werewolf fan that doesn't mind some steam or a fan of Ms Carter's, I recommend you jump in to this series, or even just this book since it can easily be read as a stand alone.
