Heart broken, feeling undervalued in the band, he just wants his bandmates to leave him the hell alone and let him drink himself into oblivion.I swear my heart broke over and over in the first 15% of this book. Seriously, every time I think, "oh it will get better now"... BAM right in the feels again!Then Melody storms into his life. She is just as broken, just as Sean is.There is an instant spark between them, though great is meant to be easy. And man, do this pair make things hard! We are taken on such an emotional rollercoaster.Just as we think that things are going to start going right for our lovelies, something comes along and rips it all away. Well, they do/say something to rip it all away. I just wanted to slap their heads together, tell them to stop effing things up. They imperfections make them perfect for each other.So, can they pull their fingers out and make a go of this thing, or will they keep up this pull/push thing they are doing?Nope, for that you will have to read for yourself.I loved that we got more of the Reckless Beat boys and their lovely ladies. At times I wanted to love Mason and Sidney (Sean's best friend and his fiance) but at other times I just wanted them to go away and leave our boy Sean alone.What I really am looking forward to now is Ryan's story. Things kind of came to a head with his storyline during this book, and we have been set up for one heck of a ride with his future story.Can. By Shayna Renee's Spicy Reads I’m always guaranteed a scorching hot read when it comes to Eden Summers’ Reckless Beat series. In Sultry Groove, book 4 of one of my favorite Rock Star Romances, this author gives us page after page of hilarious, emotional, and sexy goodness. This is a book I expected to like, and found myself devouring. With the ‘realness’ of the love story and the emotional upheaval that I went through while reading, this book was the complete package for me. A romance that had me laughing out loud one minute, and having, what I can only call, an emotional breakdown the next – I say, is a winner, and a romance reader’s dream come true.SULTRY GROOVE is about a man who craves more of the spotlight and a woman who wants nothing to do with it. This is about a man and a woman who crave the light, but is forever in darkness. This is about a man and a woman finding hope and light within each other’s arms. This is about a rock star who feels invisible and a dancer who will do anything to disappear. This is Sean and Melody’s story. It’s beautiful, captivating, and it gutted me and healed me in one fell swoop.I’m a ridiculously emotional reader, as you can tell by most of my reviews. The gut wrenching, heartbreaking, pit in my stomach reads are my favorite. Sean and Melody’s story flipped a switch for me. I’m not sure why, and I’m not sure how, but I’m so glad it got to me as much as it did. That’s not to say that’s all this book was. I mean, it’s the Reckless Beat men. They are dirty talking, foul-mouthed, sexy as hell, and stubborn as hell, and they make each and every book the gems that they are. SULTRY GROOVE was clever, hilarious, and extremely enjoyable, helping me laugh through the tears. The woman he feels should have been his is engaged to his best friend, and they both seem oblivious to his pain while he tries to put on a brave face. Fake it til you make it should be his new motto. But he is sick of being passed over, whether it is via the lack of recognition for his contributions to the band or by the women who just want to use him to get to the his other more popular (although now very taken) bandmates.Melody may just be the hope and distraction he is searching for although he falls far from the mark of making a good first impression. What he doesn't realize is that he may be just what she needs too. Melody has had a rough year to say the least and Sean is throwing up all kinds of danger signs to her senses, but they have noticeable chemistry right from the start and she can't deny the urge to let go a little bit when it comes to the sexy drummer. She hasn't had a real relationship in years, and most of the time her relationships were more physical than emotional. He is just looking for someone to call his own, someone who will see him for the person he is rather than a stepping stone or name on a page.These two are a stumbling mess of nerves, anxiety and saying the wrong thing more often than not, but yet somehow they are just right together and have the ability to set the sheets (and any other available surface) on fire! Now they just have to figure out how to get on the same page outside the bedroom. Melody is certain that no one will ever be able to look at her with anything other than disgust due to her injury especially when the shallow jerks she used to call friends gave her no reason to think otherwise, and Sean becomes increasingly frustrated that she won't confide in him even though his own verbal communication skills suck. Non verbal communication is a whole separate beast though- he most certainly has that covered hands down!Although they each found ways to frustrate me over the course of the story, Melody made me feel the need to reach into the pages and shake her repeatedly until her head settled back onto her shoulders properly. I was right there with her sister in being unable to understand how deeply she let her injury rule her life, but in an industry where the appearance of perfection is everything, I guess I can see it. As for Sean, he was a basic guy most of the time in thoughts and actions, but he had a wonderful depth of emotions beneath it all and was inherently likable throughout the book. My heart broke for him and I was thrilled when he finally gave Sidney and Mason the brutally honest truth about their "help" they so greatly needed in my opinion! There may have been actual fist pump involved and all!The rest of the band and their ladies are included as well although Ryan plays a larger part than the others in this book. His life is starting to disintegrate before his eyes and he is unable to stop it even as he falls deeper into the bottle. But I love how the guys all come together whether it is to support Ryan or to help Melody fight past her fears. I love this series and definitely recommend it!
